No AAA discounts at Resort at the Port? I have patiently waited for the 2006 rates for the radisson. I called the 800# and was told there were no AAA discounts. Can this be true?
There are two things that may be coming into play in this scenario. Most hotels will limit the number of rooms available for AAA, or other group type discounts. If there was a rush on these rooms (which would be possible since 9 months out is around spring break). The second possibility is that the Radisson is not selling any AAA rooms until closer to the booking time.
As a second check on what might be happening, go through the AAA web site and see if you can book the room directly through AAA.
They COULD have discontinued it. Such discounts are designed to attract customers to fill empty rooms. If they feel they can sell out without it, they may very well dump it.
Remember, Disney doesn't discount their cruises, maybe this hotel has found it no longer has to discount to fill it's rooms.
Thanks to all! At your suggestions I called the direct hotel #. The young lady said in fact they do do AAA but they aren't loaded yet. Okay now, I am getting somewhere. She put me through to the 800# anyway. I called AAA and am awaiting a call back. Thanks again. I quess I could stay somewhere else if this doesn't pan out I really had my heart set on the radisson being so close to the port since we are driving straight through from maryland the day before.

Funny thing is if that is ever the case it may be our (DISers) fault that the don't need to discount their rooms since many of us suggest staying at the Rad before a cruise.

Three summers ago was the frist time we stayed there and it was hardly busy at all. Last year it was packed and this year they are telling me they are almost full.

It's basic good marketing. Airlines and Rental Car companies do it, all controlled by computer that monitors inquiries, bookings and supply.
I made 3 trips to Houston last year. Arrived on a Saturday each time. Reserved a rental car a month in advance each time. Amazingly (to me anyway), Hertz was always the cheapest. First time, paid $56 for a Dodge Neon, their lot was 3/4's empty. Next time paid $19 for a Crown Victoria, their lot had cars double parked it was so full. Third time paid $85 for a Buick Regal, it was the last car on the lot.
