NKOTB...Will you admit it??

Here are my observations about yesterday's performance:

1. I loved the medley they did with all their classic songs. They did sound a little off but I'm wondering if that was because of the rain or the Today Show's equipment or because they aren't 15 anymore. Don't get me wrong--still love them!!

2. I got chills when Joey starting singing "Please Don't Go Girl". That was always my favorite song and I'm so glad they did a little part of it.

3. Donnie actually looked really good with the hat on. He should always wear the hat.

4. I kind of like their new song Summertime, but the other one they did was the cheesiest song I think I've ever heard in my life.

5. What was up with the girls on the stage with them? Why did they need to be there sleazin' up the Kids' performance?

So, what did you think? I just posted about them on my blog. I feel like such a geek, but who cares!! I'll probably pass on the concert but it was so much fun reliving old memories. I'm so glad their concerts are selling out fast. They deserve it! Go NKOTB!! :cheer2:

NO KIDDING!!! What in the WORLD was the deal with that?? They totally didn't "go" with the performance whatsoever. UGH :sad2:

I agree, the hoochie mama dancers weren't necessary. We just need they guys. :) I thought they sounded a little off, but only when they were all bouncing and dancing around. Their older bodies and voices can't do the dancing AND the singing these days. :lmao: Didn't matter to me one bit though. They still make me go :lovestruc especially Joe. He is ever so dreamy!

I was going to call them 'hoochie mamas' but wasn't sure if that was an offensive term. Wouldn't want to offend the hoochie mamas out there on the Disboards. :rotfl2:

I think your observations are correct. They did sound much better sans bouncing. :lmao:

Eventhough I do not want to admit it, I bought their new song from itunes today. My DH thinks I am nuts! I used to LOVE NKOTB. Last year we had a yard sale and actually sold my New Kids clock. The clock was beautiful wood with the picture on it. I got a few bucks for it, wonder if I could have gotten more this year.

You guys are a bunch of youngsters ;). NKOTB was after my time. I'm from the Duran Duran era :woohoo:.

I LOVED  Duran Duran when I was a little girl. Simon & John are too hot! Once I hit my teens I loved NKOTB. But then I got into Nirvana & my musical tastes changed ALOT after that. That should be a whole different thread!

I loved Jon. I got to touch his hand once. Jordan was smokin' too and STILL looks hot today. Joey is just adorable. When I see Donnie I think of his scenes in the Saw movies:scared1: & it's just weird. Danny was never hot to me...no offense to any of his fans! Good body tho!;)

I would be sure of it! LOL

Donald - I also loved Duran Duran...John was my fave! ;)

And yes I'm still pouting over the fact that I couldn't get tix for NKOTB. Sold out!!! HMPH! :snooty:

Oh and also...did anyone notice how Donnie yet AGAIN "took over"? lol It used to crack me up back then when he used to dominate the stage. He was always so hyper! Not much changed. :cutie:

When you think about it, none of them have changed in their "standing" within the group. Jon is still all quiet and in the background, Donnie is the commanding one, Joey is still the adorable, but a little bit dorky younger one, Jordan is Mr. Cool guy and Danny...I'm not sure what he is. LOL Oh how I Love me some New Kids.

DFi is making fun of me in a big way. I am acting like I'm 12 again and I know it, but I totally can't help myself! I get all giddy when I see and hear them. It's absurd and I feel like a moron!!! :)

Join the club!!!

And Danny...he would be classified as Muscle Man! :cutie:

I have to admit I have a CD or two of their old stuff and although I am not "eagerly" awaiting their comeback I do have to admit I am curious!

I am TOTALLY excited. I am a little nuts about the whole thing, and I am ok with that!! I will be going to the concert either here in Phoenix or to Denver. I am determined! It makes me feel 13 again and I LOVE it!!

I enjoyed the whole thing. I thought they were great, but I also had to accept they, like you said, aren't 15 anymore and things have changed.
2. I got chills when Joey starting singing "Please Don't Go Girl". That was always my favorite song and I'm so glad they did a little part of it.
Another dork moment... I actually got teary eyed. SO PATHETIC. But whateva.
3. Donnie actually looked really good with the hat on. He should always wear the hat.
I thought they all looked pretty darn good!
4. I kind of like their new song Summertime, but the other one they did was the cheesiest song I think I've ever heard in my life.
The other one "Tonight" was on their Step by Step album. It was never one of my faves, but I think they sang it because of what the words are.
5. What was up with the girls on the stage with them? Why did they need to be there sleazin' up the Kids' performance?
I thought the SAME thing! Really bad.

I always liked the song "Tonight" but I love that whole Step by Step album. I LOVE "Funny Feeling". What a great song. I have to admit that I was listening to that on my ipod not too long ago.

And yes.....I have every NKOTB album on my ipod. Even their first one when Joe was like 12. So sue me!;)

About 8 years ago my BFF (we no longer speak, not my doing, VERY long story) and I went to the music store and bought every album on CD. Our tapes were worn out. ;) We pooled our $$ and shared them. She got them in the "divorce" unfortunately. However, we tortured my boyfriend by making him listen to EVERY album, repeatedly, when we drove him back to VA that night! He was in the Coast Guard and had come home for the weekend, so we were taking him back. He was ready to drive the car off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - Tunnel. :lmao:

I want all their CDs on my iPod too!! But I already have all their albums AND tapes, and I'm NOT going to rebuy all their cds just to put them on my ipod! LOL Although, I may be worn down eventually.....hehehe!! :cutie:

OK I am officially RE-OBSESSED!!

:cool1: I think about you in the Summertime....and all the good times we had baby....been a few years & I can't deny....the thought of you still makes me crazy..... :dance3:

I am NKOTB crazy all over again. I went to see them on the Today show. I didn't wait outside with everyone else (let's just say I know people ;) ) and me and my girlfriend were screaming like we were 14 years old all over again. It was great! They sounded much better in person than they did on TV, I made DH tivo it.

Myself, my girlfriend, my little sister and her friend are going to the concert at Nassau Coliseum in September and I am trying to get tickets for the Mohegan Sun concert for my sister-in-law and myself. I didn't get to go the first time around so I am making up for it now!!

I went the first time around....about 14 or 15 times!!! hahahaha!!! If they were in a city near me 2 nights in a row, then I went 2 nights in a row! LOL! Yes I had issues. Apparently I still have them!!!! :cutie:

Did any of you like their original album? The VERY first one? A friend and I loved it! My fave songs on that album were Are You Down? and New Kids On The Block. I just downloaded them to my iPod! LOVE IT!
