NJ woman sues her psychic for $160,000 for bad predictions!

That's an entertainment expesne. The judge will throw this out in court. Psychics are not professionals, they are just entertainers. (or that's how the psychic's lawyer will argue)

I predict that the case will be dismissed. I'm rather psychic, that way.

Oh man... I live near the psychic :lmao::lmao:

I agree! It's like going to a casino, not winning, and wanting your money back.

Although, this quote in the article bothered me...

The psychic told Brown that her powers were aiding the treatment of her cancer, and that if she stopped the consultation, Brown’s "mother and son would succumb to the same dark forces," according to the suit.

The psychic is quite a piece of work. (Although I don't know why anyone in their right mind would have believed her!)

A woman spent $160,000 on her psychic, and is now suing her psychic to get her money back because the psychic's predictions didn't come true. Should she get her money back? Did the psychic take advantage of a desperate woman? Is there no such thing as personal responsibility anymore?

I really feel bad for that poor woman. It really irritates me when people are worked over like that. Was she a fool? Yes, but a desperate emotionally unstable one.

That's how I feel. Typically, I have very little sympathy for people who blow their money on psychics or in casinos. But I feel like maybe this woman is owed a small percentage of her money back because she was taken advantage of so badly, at a time when she was particularly desperate. But then again, no one forced her to keep going back.

It's not hard to compare her to those people who were swindled by Bernie Madoff.

And this is why so many bogus (or perceived as bogus) lawsuits are settled.

Next time there is a group gripe about our legal system and cases regarding hot coffee or ridiculous warnings please remember that these cases settle because lawyers know that sympathetic jurors are out there . . . regardless of the stupidity of the plaintiff.

That's a lot of money for a psychic! Is that typical? I had no idea they pulled in money like that.

Sad case. I can see an angle for a case or not. It could go either way.

I would because the psychic should have been aware of the strong probability that the client would sue. If the psychic was not aware of this it shows the person was not properly qualified.

I couldn't stop reading and re-reading the part about the psychic spending $12,000 for a miniature scale model of a church.

Sad and horrible situation. I really don't know exactly what should be done but I can only hope the psychic is no longer in a position to take money for her services after this has come to light. Hope it will give other "psychics" pause, too.

The woman could have spent $6 instead, (price of a movie ticket back in the 80's,) to hear Yoda say, "Hard to see. . . The future is always in motion."

OR she could have watched a decade plus of Star Trek and learned the past, present and future are happening all at once, and at the same time. :teleport: And what she does in the present will affect/change the outcome of her future - which reinforces what Yoda said. :p
