NJ/NY Ecoli cases...getting worrisome

I heard about the NJ cases--but not the LI ones. I live in Nassau County, so I wonder where the confirmed case was. And I ate at Taco Bell in NYC the other day!

I'd heard about the NJ cases on the news this morning, but not the Long Island cases.

I live in Suffolk, but as far as I know, none of us ate at Taco Bell.

my younger dd, who is 14, has a virus, woke up this morning feeling dizzy and with a stomache ache. so glad I didn't listne to her and had her grandma bring her to the doctor! he said it was a virus, nothing more...so glad I sent her, I'd be so worried by now...

I checked out the story on WABC.com, and they list the Taco Bell restaurants involved. one of them is in my neighborhood. we haven't eaten there in a long time, but I'm sure my kids' friends have been there recently. Oy!

I used to eat at that Taco Bell quite often when I worked in neighboring Piscataway!

I love Taco Bell, but I am going to have to avoid it for a while.

They get the meat in bags already prepared and they boil it. So, that meat could go to any of them I would think. :(

I hope those who are ill will be okay.

We talked about this as a current event in Language Arts this morning.
I don't eat at Taco Bell, so I'm not worrying too much. Like, nobody at my school eats there.

I love Taco Bell, but I haven't had it in a long time. I guess the dog will be saying, "Yo Quiero antibiotics". I hope they can fix this problem.

I wondered how it could get from NJ to NY--I figured it was something like that. (when I read the story yesterday, it didn't have that much info).

Years ago, my family and I got very sick after eating at a Long Island Taco Bell. We notified the restaurant and the corporate offices. Guess what they did? They sent us coupons for free food! Like we wanted to rush out and eat there again. We haven't eaten there since!

I think it was East Meadow, but I'm not certain. The one in Roosevelt Field and the Broadway Mall in Hickville were mentioned also. I guess it's a moot point because the news is just now reporting all locations in NY and NJ will reopen today..... HOWEVER, they are also reporting a brand new case of E.coli on LI and that person is in the hospital and it IS linked to Taco Bell. Wonder if they will close again?

I saw the story on NBC news last night. They were reporting stores in NJ and LI. The funny thing is my daughter and I were driving last night around dinner time and we passed a Taco Bell. She asked if we could stop there but I said no -- it was on the other side of the high way and I would have had to make a u turn to get there.

My DD ate at the Roosevelt Field Taco Bell last night 15 minutes befored they closed it to sanitize it last night. Now she's all paranoid. This happened on 11/29 according to last nights news. I'm assuming it's OK now or hoping so at least. DD is now stressing out about every little thing she feels in her body!

it could be any of the ingredients, don't you think? they get a lot of stuff from a central supply depot.

one of the two in our area is on the list.

did anyone catch WPLJ thi smorning? todd Pettingill had a parody song, set to the tune of "Monstor Mash", about "Taco Bell hell". very funny.

I did and it was funny. I like Todd :teeth:

VoiltePrincess- I love PlJ in the morning. I felt so stupid laughing to that parody when I saw the landscaping guys in the truck next to me looking at me like I was crazy.

My DD is now going through Taco Bell withdrawal. Can't wait til this dies down some.

:guilty: I had not had Taco Bell in years....until last friday night!!! My whole family ate it . North Jersey...not from a reported store...but they must all get food from a local distributer!!!!!

I read that the incubation period is from 3-9 days.....I am so concerned...

Like LBAK said...every little blurp or blip in my body has me worried.
I don't want to say much to my kids...don't want them to worry...but I am on the look out for symptoms....

UGGGHHHHH :sad2:
