I am taking my grandchildren, 14 and 11 , to the NJ Aqurium in Camden. They have been to the Baltimore Aquarium many times. I have not been to either. Will they be pleased or disappointed in the NJ Aquarium ? What do you think of each ? Thanks

Haven't been to the Baltimore, but we're in Chicago and have been there several times.

We went to NJ Aquarium last spring (2007) and the kids (then DS12 and DD7) absolutely loved it. DD still refers to the trip from time to time. There's also a Navy ship (think it was the USS New Jersey) that has self-guided and led tours -- DS loved it (particularly since his dad was in Afghanistan at the time).

There were a lot of great hands-on activities for the kids to do. We'd definitely go back -- it was a great day trip. The website is http://www.adventureaquarium.com/

I love them both - but I think the kids will especially love the hippos at Camden, and from my memory, the Baltimore Aquarium does not have hippos. There's also a great touch tank at Camden (it had baby sharks, stingrays and starfish last time we were there). Lots of exhibits and some shows. I loved the dolphin show at Baltimore. Have a great time! I think they'll love it, and so will you! :goodvibes

We liked the Baltimore one better, but they're both worth a look. One of the downsides to the NJ one is that you had to walk through the food court to get to different areas in the aquarium.
