I don't know if I am in the right thread but I was wondering about the Nintendo DS for use inside the parks. I read a ton of stuff about the testing a year ago but I cannot find any current information.

My wife and I both have DS's and we would love something like that!!!!!!!

Are you looking to play games or use it for communication?

2-way radios might be the better option for communication. They are less expensice, so if lost you might not be as upset.

It's my understanding that the Nintendo DS program has been scrapped. Instead, Disney has signed a deal with Verizon Wireless that will provide most of the same information to Verizon subscribers. Some of the information will also be made available to subscribers of other carriers.

My family was lucky enough to test this last January in MK. We loved it! It had loads of info in the program. It seemed a little bulky at first, but you got used to it quickly. We sure missed it when we went to EPCOT the following day. And to thank us for trying it out, Disney gave our family five free 5x7 photos from photo pass - one for each family member, and a special trading pin.:woohoo:

SAD!!! I just got a DS and was hoping to use it in the parks. Now I guess it will just be line entertainment. :confused3
