I'm looking at getting DD a Nintendo DS for Christmas (yes i know its early).

Do you think i just get the normal DS lite or wait till the new DS comes out, she will be 4 by Christmas so i dont think she will be bothered what DS she gets as long as it plays games.

Also any games for 3-4 year olds you can recommend, I've seen a Peppa Pig game that i think she would like....anyone played it?

Its either a DS or the big Sylvanian family house that she wants, she has already asked Santa lol (told her the credit crunch may affect him so can she let him know now :lmao: )

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the new DS for her. The old ones will be much cheaper as soon as the new ones come out too :thumbsup2

As far as games go, my DS has got some that he loves:

I Did It Mum - can get boys and girls versions
Mario Kart
Cooking Mama (it's DDs really but DS loves it and plays with it more than her)
Noddy

He also really likes the Spyro games and Mario Brothers games

Thanks Joh, i'm deffo going to wait till the new one comes out so i can get the older one a bit cheaper.

They do Dora the Explorer and Go Diego games if she is into Nick Jnr. I would also recommend Nintendogs. The Disney fairies looks good too - DD has got her eye on that one. It is a good idea to check what the game is about before you buy too as some require reading to play.

I would stick with the old one too.

There are a selection of games called- I did it mum- These are aimed at young kids and they are really simple games that involve simple learning as well. There are also ones called - imagine- wher you pretend you are an ice skater or ballerina etc.

:thumbsup2 I was looking at the Dora one, think she would love that.

They sound good, will go read some reviews on them. I think i'm going to end up spending more time playing it then Kyra lol.

I sometimes wonder why i sold my DS 18months ago :lmao:

I ended up having to buy myself one after buying DD one last year as she started complaining I was on it more than her.

Shelby hasn't got one but she has played on a friends and she loved Nintendogs and Peppa Pig, both are pretty simple and easy for them to use.

wow, you're organised. My neice has the disney fairies and says it's just lovely. :goodvibes

If i dont start shopping early i would of spent all my money by Christmas and everyone would be getting orange peel and a block of coal :lmao:

I'd stick with the old one too - alot of the features on the new Dsi, your DD would probably not be interested in (camera, internet browser/ downloadable games etc).
As for games, Disney Friends is good and easy to play. I'd also recommend the Imagine games and I did it mum for little ones.
:)
