Calling all video game fans!

My husband and I both have 3DS systems, and like to collect other people's Mii characters via Streetpass. We were wondering if it would be worth it to carry them around Disney World when we visit?

Do a lot of people bring the portable game systems with them when they go, or are they so busy with other things that they just kind of leave them home?

I was thinking that we would get some in the hotel, atleast (kids getting bored at night, and all that). But wasn't sure. Thoughts?

I saw people using them in lines. Saw them in the hotels. So it might be worth it to you

Absolutely.

I don't have one myself but my cousin did it and picked up about 100+ street passes over a weekend stay.

You'll be in good company! :)

I think a lot of people would have them at least in the hotels. I know I usually bring mine when I travel. You would probably be able to collect a lot from different states/countries. I personally wouldn't carry mine in the parks though.

Yep. My DS's 3DS record (no pun intended) @ DLR was 27 in one day -- he had to clear the lobby twice!

Oh, I'm not worried about carrying them. We are "shove everything in the backpack" folk. So, they would be in there most of the day, with ziplock bags for the water rides. lol

Good to hear we would not be alone :D I hope to fill the map on my Mii Plaza. Hehehe

Yep, DS takes his to the parks just for the street passes. He said he gets a lot there.

Well, this is my kind of thread. I've been debating whether or not to carry mine around when I finally go, since I don't want to carry too much on me. I do love getting my streetpasses, though... Fellow gamer geeks, unite!!!

Absolutely. We've been bringing ours for several trips now and its always been a worth it. Especially when we started picking up international street passes.

I always bring mine... not to play with, really, but to collect visitors. :) Remember to empty the lobby periodically!

My daughter got a TON of street passes in 2012, but not as many in 2013. Not sure how it would be now.

I'm a 51 year old woman and my 17 year old daughter and I always bring our 3DS's with us. I have a regular 3DS and a 3DS XL. she has a regular 3DS and a Japanese region 3 DS. Sometimes we bring them into the parks and sometimes we leave them back at the campsite (Ft. Wilderness)

Remember to take 3D videos while you're at WDW. You won't regret it!

Using my 3ds in my hotel last trip i had 11 streetpass people met. I never took to parks or anything just sitting in Pop Century.

Ummmm......What's a streetpass and why do I want one?
It's a digital greeting and exchange of limited identity data between active 3DS's. You can then use them in gaming situations, or just collect the Mii's associated with them.

It's something cool Nintendo geeks like to share.

Worth it. I take both my US and my JP one to the parks. I find that the Magic Kingdom type parks get the most hits for some reason (in CA, FL, France AND Japan) go figure.

My adult nephew takes his every trip. And I think it is kind of fun to see all of the people he "meets". Especially when he meets someone from a country for the first time.

My daughter took hers to MK on our last visit and racked up a huge number of meetups. She was thrilled.

I haven't taken my 3DS to Disney yet (I didn't have it until after we went) but I've brought it to cons and it was really fun to see what sort of hits I'd get with it so I'm kind of excited to bring it to Disney and see what I get
