Nine Dragons

9D gets a bad rap on here, but we went there and had a very good meal. Yes, it was more expensive than what I pay for Chinese food at home, but most of the food we buy in WDW is more expensive than what we pay at home. I think a part of the disconnect here is that people are willing to pay more money for a good steak (Le Celier) or fancy Italian (Tutto Italia), but they think of Chinese food as being cheap and fast, as in what they get from their local place. Nine Dragons isn't going to have a $4.95 lunch special, but we enjoyed the food and didn't think it was overly expensive by WDW standards.

I did a review of Nine Dragons recently. You can read it here.
I wondered why it was so empty, and I came to the conclusion that most people think of Chinese food differently than what Nine Dragons offers, which is a more upscale version.

We noticed on both visits to 9D that it was empty. Tfirst time we were able to be seated nearly an hour before our ADR time, and the second we booked about 1/2 an hour before as we entered Epcot (which was VERY early). HOWEVER, the first time 9D was really starting to get crowded as we were leaving (good thing we went early for a quiet dinner)...leaving me to think that people book the ADRs for closer to Illuminations. But for those who are bypassing 9D...you are missing out...but that is ok we'll enjoy for you;)
