Never been to Nine Dragons in Epcot. What do you think? I amde an ADR for my April visit. I enjoy Chinese food. What is the atmosphere like???

This restaurant tends to be a lightening rod for negative reviews. All of the bad reviews scared me off of Nine Dragons on our first trip to WDW, in fact. This trip we intentionally tried a few new restaurants, and Nine Dragons was one of them.

We went on Oct. 2nd and really had a fabulous lunch. All of the food was fresh and very good. We had honey sesame chicken (yum!), General Tso's chicken (rich and peppery), and Kung Pao chicken (extremely spicy but flavorful). We also shared the appetizer sampler. We agreed that all of the food was either "very good" or excellent.

The atmosphere is very pleasant and pretty. Our server was polite and attentive.

Overall, this was one of the most pleasant dining surprises of our trip. It was probably our least expensive table service meal, too - we definitely felt like we got a lot of value (for WDW, anyway) for our money.

Many people tend to pooh-pooh the place and say that they can get better food at their local Chinese restaurant. I live in an area that has plentiful good Chinese restaurants, and we still were very pleased with the food at Nine Dragons. Was it the very best meal ever? No, but it was a very nice, pleasant meal with very good to excellent Chinese food. There's my two cents. :)

We ate dinner at Nine Dragons on 10/6. We really enjoyed our meal there. The food was great and we really loved the atmosphere. We were seated near a window with a nice view of the lake at Epcot and it was a beautiful evening outside. We got the Sesame Chicken and General Tso's chicken - both were very good. The kids all had sweet and sour chicken (off of the kids menu) and they all loved that. The service was so-so but I think our server was swamped that night. I would definately go back there again!

I can never go to Disney without going here. I'm Filipino, and adore all types of Asian dishes.. and Nine Dragon really puts out. Authentic food.. great, tender and well-cooked meats. Amazing atmosphere that really re-creates some of the restaurants in China.

A+++ from me.

We eat there almost every trip. I know it gets a lot of bad reviews, but we really like it. Sure, I have had better Chinese food, but Nine Dragons is really good and we always have excellent service there. Also, I don't think we have ever had ADR's and have seldom had much of a wait for lunch or dinner. It is a very pretty restaurant inside, too! Give it a try!!

We had lunch there a trip or two ago and really liked it! We enjoyed all the dishes, found the portions to be large and easily shared, and the service was good. Now, all WDW restaurants are hit and miss but this was a hit with us.

We'd return; I get a craving for "ethnic" food at WDW and this hit the spot. I think you should try it for yourself!

We really like it, the food is very good and iowe have never had a bad expeirence here, even when we walked in at 8.45 pm one night without an ADR. The only thing I would say is the tables are a bit close together in some places.

This is always a don't miss place for us. Give it a try, I'm sure you will become a member of the Nine Dragons fan club. :thumbsup2

These comments make me feel beter for dinning there. I have a reservation for the CP dinner on Dec 7th. Never been to 9 Dragons before ,so all the good reveiws are great.

We are also Asian and we do enjoy authentic Chinese food, often getting recommendations from our friends and relatives at just about every Chinatown in the U.S. that we travel to. Nine Dragons certainly won't rate among the best, but they are pretty good and rank among the most frequented WDW restaurants by us. We've tried most of their dishes and I will say that some are pretty good, while some others are not so good. Are you going to make die hard fans of egg foo young or shimp and lobster sauce enjoy a mo po tofu, steamed fish, or pork loin in XO sauce? Probably not, so I usually don't recommend Chinese dishes. So if you like some of the more authentic fare, you will probably enjoy Nine Dragons more.

EDIT: Service is hit or miss sometimes. I hate to stereotype but since I am asian I get a free pass... when things are hectic busy, many times their abrupt responses or actions may appear to be rude, but it's sort of a culture thing.

We ate there at the end of August on the dining plan..... and all I can say was it was alright. Nothing spectacular !!!

I would never eat there again with all of the other dining choices. I've heard a lot of great reviews about Le Cellier and Tappanyaki.

I also agree that it was just okay. I personally think that our little chinese take-out is better. Not bad, just nothing to write home about. I also thought the portions were small, and I don't eat much. My hubby wasn't anywhere near full after his meal.

Nine Dragons was my 2 DDs first Chinese food experience. They never wanted to try it. After our first visit to ND, they were hooked on Chinese. We don't miss an opportunity to go. As I've stated in previous reviews, the food tastes really fresh - not like it has been sitting out like some restaurants. I think you will like it.
