We are at WDW now and just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Nine Dragons. We had eaten here about 5 years ago and reluctantly booked it again for this trip. Boy were we surprised!!!!

Our reservation was at 5:30 and we arrived to check in at 5:10. We were seated immediately. Our server was Wei Na. She is wonderful.

We all ordered the hot and sour soup which was out of this world. I am a huge hot and sour soup fan and this was some of the best I have ever eaten.

DH ordered the sweet and sour pork for his entree. This is served over spinach pasta. Yeah I know what you're thinking bc I was too, spinach pasta with Chinese food. Let me assure you that it was delicious. (I stole a bite from DH).

Me and DS had the honey sesame chicken. This comes with asian slaw (yuck) and rice. The chicken and rice was very good. The portions were huge and none of us could finish our plates.

Dessert was caramel ginger ice cream which is our favorite.

I can't say enough about how good this dinner was. I don't know why this restaurant gets over looked.

Wei Na was very attentive. DH is a HUGE soda drinker and his glass was never empty (and that is saying something). She checked several times that to make sure the soup wasn't too spicey and offered to get us something else if it was. She offered to bring me and DS more rice several times. She was a great server. I wish I could take her with me to replace some of the servers at other restaurants.

glad to hear this! my bf and I are on a trek to try every TS restaurant at WDW and Nine Dragons will be on our next list!

We ate at Nine Dragons just a couple of nights ago. I, too, thought it was great! I had the peppered shrimp and spinach pasta (don't remember the exact dish name). The shrimp were cooked perfectly and I was so happy to have a little spicey flavor.....being a Cajun girl :) We all enjoyed our meal and had a great server too!

Thank you for the positive review of this place. I have always wanted to try it as the inside looks so beautiful and inviting.

I love the honey sesame chicken at Nine Dragons. I agree with you that the place gets overlooked, the reason I think is that the food probably isn't that much better than most chinese places people have at home. For us, though, it's a vast improvement on takeout chinese which is usually what we have here :thumbsup2

We have been to WDW 25 times as a family and because of all the negative reviews about Nine Dragons, we avoided it like the plague until something like vacation 22. We were so surprised to experience such an enjoyable meal in a lovely environment! We have not been back, but would guess that it will make it into the rotation again in the next trip or two...

We ate at Nine Dragons on our 2007 trip to the World. The food was wonderful when we were there but I couldn't finish mine. I had stopped for a fully loaded funnel cake around 3:30 and ate the whole thing (because DH had to take DS to the bathroom and the ice cream started to melt so I had to eat it fast!) so I wasn't very hungry by the time we got to the restaurant. :lmao:

Those dishes look very good! Is the food from Lotus Blossom just as good? Our DS won't eat chinese, but the rest of us love it and would consider getting items from Lotus Blossom and going to another QS for DS. (He's your typical chicken, mac and cheese or hot dog kid). ;)

We have eaten at Lotus Blossom once before and it is no where near as good as Nine Dragons. If you want to have dinner at Nine Dragons, they have a kids menu with sweet and sour chicken. You could always ask for the chicken with no sauce and white rice. If you think your DS still wouldn't eat it, you could call ahead and see if they could prepare him a special dish of mac and cheese (they are usually very accommodating if you give them a notice). Another option would be to get him a dinner for a QS and take it to Nine Dragons with you (like from Electric Umbrella).

Last month we purchased four of the caramel-ginger ice cream servings from Lotus Blossom. They were pre-packaged and frozen ROCK SOLID. They were not nearly as good as the freshly dipped ice cream served in the Asian TS restaurants.

My occasionally picky kiddos got sweet&sour chicken with the sauce on the side. They both tried the sauce and didn't like it but gobbled up their chicken and white rice :) Looked like chicken nuggets to them.

Thanks for the review. :thumbsup2 Maybe I should add this to our ADR's because DH would love it there. It's also good to know that the chefs at Nine Dragons will accomodate picky eaters (like DD & I). :goodvibes

Thanks for the review !

Pasta is really not that strange with oriental food. Remember that pasta and sauce came from China originally. The Italians just added tomatoes and oregano. :rotfl:

I keep hearing great things about this place. I don't think that it will remain a secret for long!

We ate there 6/27. We didn't have an ADR for that night because DH had to check in for his convention that afternoon and we didn't want to be tied down. So, knowing we were headed back to Epcot that evening we called the ADR line from our room and asked what was available late that night. There were about 5 choices and DH was in the mood for Chinese so we got an ADR for 8:50. A nice surprise, we could see the fireworks from Illuminations from our window since we were seated right there! There were maybe only 3 or 4 other tables left at this time and I know they were trying to close, so we ordered quickly and the food came in just a few minutes. Also a nice surprise, sometimes we put so much thought and stress into planning the perfect dining experiences that we don't allow ourselves the chance to stumble upon a hidden treasure. For the record I also had the sesame honey chicken, it was a huge portion! Had I known that, I would have just asked for an extra plate for DD instead of ordering her the kids sweet & sour chicken (they put her sauce on the side without us even asking, must be used to picky kids lol).

Glad to finally hear a positive review of this place. I am curious to try it, as I read somewhere that they're doing great things with noodles, but there haven't been many reviews of it here and what reviews I have read have been negative. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the review and pics! I love asian food and I will try this on my next visit!
