Nikki's Turning THIRTY and Partying Disney Style!

Well, the time has come. Nikki is getting old. I'll be turning 30 this September and plan on celebrating in both of the two US Disney theme parks. Because of work, I am unable to get off for my real birthday. Instead, I'm taking a trip to WDW in July and one to DLR in August. The latter will be exactly one month from my real birthday in September.

Enough rambling. Now I need advice. I know that this question has been asked over and over again, but I am going to ask anyway. What special activities or restaurants come to mind for an adult's 30th birthday? Any ideas on where I can have my birthday dinner in WDW? I'm looking for a fun place to celebrate with friends.

And yes, I know about the birthday buttons and specialty order cakes.

I'm celebrating my big 3-0 flanked by a half marathon and PCC 2.0.

I can't think of a better way to spend it than with my DIS computernut friends.

Adult birthdays at WDW are FUN!

I celebrated my 50th at WDW with friends and the most memorable evening was watching Illuminations with a big group- a couple of adult beverages, some desserts and friends.

Truly- just about any place you dine will do something for you- maybe a complimentary dessert, Mickey confetti on the table, singing wait staff at your table, etc.

The places that are more rowdy and interactive are the places that will be a little more boisterous for your birthday too. 50's Prime Time, Hoop Dee Doo, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's.

Or going to Jelly Rolls or YeHaa Bob is fun too.

Just make sure to tell WDW Dine about your birthday with every ADR- and remind them when you check in at the restaurant. And the more friends you go with- makes every place fun for a birthday- even Casey's or a Mickey Bar on Main Street!

I turned 30 (midnight from the last moment I was 29) at the Adventurer's Club, but I can't advise that to anyone now.

But I did have my 30th birthday dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse followed by meeting up with friends at Jellyrolls. I guess you can do stuff like that.

I turned 30 on the Disney Wonder this past January.
I have been feeling more mature since then Who knew there were so many 1980 babies on the Dis!

Another Nikki here!! I just turned 29 but I can see 30 on the horizon! I'll be in WDW in July too! Have you seen the Official July 2010 thread? We are having fun planning there!

Hmm...I can't think of a better place to celebrate that drinking in WS! Maybe a night out at Jellyrolls?

Club 33 would be awesome for DL. Wink,wink.We'll figure something out for DL. I think For WDW that dinner at California Grill or if you wanted to something a little less upscale like 50's like someone mentioned. Either way Disney will get it right. You can drink around the worlds in Epcot if you want to. HTH.

I turned 30 a few weeks ago... we celebrated by spending all our money at the Grand Floridian RPC =)

Seriously, though, I'm spending my year being 30 training for the 2011 Princess Half Marathon, for when I turn 31.

Nikki, I spent my birthday in the world last year. I went to my 2 favorite parks, had lunch at one of my favorite places to eat, and rode most of my favorite rides. I would just enjoy the day doing whatever you wanted and enjoying some of your favorite thing.

What a great way to celebrate your 30th! What about taking a tour? Backstage Magic tour sounds awesome...that would be a nice 30th bday present!

I had the best 40th bday party ever in Disneyland.
We had breakfast at the Storytellers Cafe. It was a blast. I am kinda nerdy and not a big drinker so we spent the day playing in the parks. It was a lot of fun. We stayed at the Grand Californian... that was a real treat!
But I guess all in all being at Disney was the highlight of my trip.
There are so many things you CAN do. That is what I love about DL and WDW.

I would for the coast to coast by running DL half marathon in Sept and the Wine & Dine in Oct, but I am kind of strange like that.

That's a great idea with the coast to coast deal!!! I am doing the same thing minus DL because I am a WDW snob lol For my 30th the DW and I have 12 days planned of amazing Florida fun in April/May .....One good idea to celebrate would be to do a Sip and Snack around the World which as you may know takes drinking around the world to a whole new level....I can easily Drink around the World but throw in food and forget about it....Anyway since you are going with friends I think that would be a fun idea.... As far as dinner goes I would do California Grill, especially if your friends are paying

Nikki Louise---- last year, NC B. and I did afternoon tea. I was wearing my birthday button so they gave me a rose to celebrate(could not go on actual birthday...but, if WDW/Disney Parks/Resorts celebrations can stretch a birthday/anniversary for over a year). We hung out in the GF Lobby for bit to listen to the dude playing the piano and then we did a quick jaunt to MK for NC B. to get his haircut and my hair was fluffed/pixie dusted. We got dole whip floats and saw the tiki show and rode the train. We left and did the monorail resorts for drinks (coffee/soda) before doing The Wave for dinner.



I liked Teppan Edo for my previous year birthday celebration.
