Has anyone gotten so caught up in their Disney planning and wanting it to be perfect that they dream about it??

I had the most awful nightmare last night. (again) I dreamt that we arrived w/ the kids at Disney---and it was more like a large carnival :earseek: . The rides were nothing fun and everything was a joke. And the animals at AK were raggy old camels and one elephant and the castle was the only nice thing. (my last dream we forgot to see the castle, lol) It was a huge disappointment and DW only stayed open long enough for us to ride 4 rides. And it wasnt even busy!!! ( I guess that was the best part)

Does anyone else go through this?? Am I worrying TOO much about this vacation and wanting it to be magical for the kids???? I dont want to over worry and ruin it!!!

At least when I woke up, the world was as it was and Disney is still that magical place down South that we will be seeing in 46 more days!!!!

At least you remembered to bring the kids.

I'm not insane lol....... and I thought I was the only one who was crazy enough to have these planning dreams. I dream that I loose DF at the WL all the time. I am waiting for him at artist point and he never shows up and I have to look for him... trust me its very strange but YOU ARE NOT ALONE LOL!!! :rotfl: DO all the planning you can ahead of time and then try not to worry once you get there. I am an OBSESSIVE planner as you can see from my sig that I plan very far in advance!!! I dont like to be surprised lol.

Mine always involved losing everyone on the flight there. I would turn to look at my kids in their airplace seats and there would be strangers there. And the flight would suddenly be going to the wrong place. . .

you are not alone. ;)

That's a riot! I do think we spend too much time hoping for perfection, but sometimes the best things that have happened for us at WDW were spur-of-the-moment things that were NOT planned.

BUt I still plan, plan, plan. Slow learner, apparently!

I've never had a nightmare about it, but yes, as trips get close, whether it's Disney or skiing, I dream about it almost every night. :teeth:

DW had a nightmare the other night about WDW. She dreamed that we had just gotten there, showed up to the resort and were incredibly excited. Then all of the sudden I said, alright it's time to go home now. She started saying we had just gotten there and I told her, no we hadn't, and told her all the stuff we had done over the past week. How bad would that be???? :wave2:

my mom gets these nightmares too sometmes. but not only when she's planning. and a lot of the time something really bad happens like last time someone died in it.

Funny you mentioned this.... I had one last night. I dreamed when we arrived there was 12 feet of snow!! All I kept saying was we were here in February you would think the snow would have been here then not in October....

BTW the buses were not running because of the snow. :rotfl:

I have 2 recurring Disney dreams. The first is that our entire vacation somehow passes by with us never making it into the parks. At some point in my dream vacation it dawns on me that our trip is almost over and we haven't left the resort! The second is that we arrive at our resort only to discover that I have forgotten to pack our passes. Hmmm....leaving tomorrow.......I think I need to go check on something........

For some reason--my dreams are that we will miss the Castle and not get to see it :rotfl2: OR that it wont be all we expect it to be!!! :earseek:

I guess that is just wanting a nice family vacation!!! And the worry that someone/something is going to mess it up!!!!!

Oh yea--the one I had the night before was that a Tsunami hit us here in IN and completely washed the entire states south out on its way to us and all I could think of is "there goes our family vacation".

Hi!

Yup, me too! We are leaving on Tuesday  and this entire week I haven't been able to sleep one bit and when I do sleep I wake up startled. Monday night I had a nightmare that when we arrived at the resort I forgot to bring our luggage :sad2:

I hope the rains stops before we get there! :umbrella:

We are still 113 days out from departure and I had a nightmare the other night! (I had at least 4 before our trip in January but they didn't start this early!)

In this one I was at SOME park (it didn't look like any of them, actually) and TONS of characters came out for meet & greet. I was so excited! But for some reason I wanted to wait for my DD to come out of the restroom before we took any pictures and all the characters were walking away. I don't HAVE a DD! For whatever reason DS and DH didn't seem to be in this dream. Just then Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid" appeared and I was almost in tears. I don't have any particular love for Sebastian and I hardly ever cry about ANYTHING so I have no clue why it was so emotional for me! Bizarre!

I can't remember having a nightmare, but I do know that I constantly have dreams about WDW. I dream that we are having a blast and that everything goes right. Then I wake up and realize that I am not there!! But I guess the worst is when you know you won't be returning for a while and you dream that you are there. I guess I just Love WDW too much!

I have a dream fairly often that it's time to leave for WDW and I haven't done any packing! In fact, I had it last night, I was doing the packing and ready to leave. Then I woke up and was so disappointed that I had to go to work instead of WDW!

Oh my gosh - I've had a reoccuring(sp?) nightmare for years that we get to WDW and as the week progresses we are not getting anything done - it's like we are running in quicksand...then it's time to go and we've not done any parks/attractions!! Too funny...I should have known there were other Dis'ers just as crazy as me!

Love the validation I get on these boards... :goodvibes

I worry too much as it is. Anything I haven't already thought of...someone else has thought of for me!

Forgetting to pack is my worst nightmare, in my dream we completely forget about our vacation until the day of the flight.

I dream about WDW periodically. I have a trip scheduled for August with DS9 and my sister and 2 nieces. I've had 2 dreams about that trip. I just had a dream last weekend. In it, we needed to leave for the airport in an hour and I hadn't started packing. Also in this dream, DS12 was going, too. (DH and DS12 are actually planning to spend a week fishing while DS9 and I are at WDW.) In the dream, I told the boys to start packing. DS12 had some attitude so I took hold of his ear and twisted and threatened him with the *wrath of Mom* if he didn't cooperate. :rotfl: I've never twisted his ear - so I don't know where that came from. So I'm scrambling trying to pack  and I think "I haven't read the Packing Tips thread on the DIS yet!" :rotfl2: In the meantime DH is following me around, trying to - ahem -... before I leave. It was very annoying. :rotfl:

LOL - I never had any planning dreams before our trip but this time I had some really strange dreams for about 3 or 4 nights straight after we returned. I kept dreaming that DH and I fell asleeep on a ride - each dream it was a different ride , one time it was pirates, small world . splash mountain and haunted mansion. Anyway we fell asleep on the ride in the eveing hours and we were left in the ride at night when the park shuts down - in my dream I wake up in a panic and try to wake DH up and tell him that we need to get off the ride and get back to the resort - funny thing is I was actually waking up in my room and being half awake I thought the dream was real and I was actually trying to wake DH to get up and get off the ride - After the 3rd nght of doing this Dh finally tells me " Wake up you are at home not at WDW" LOL I think i must have been a bit to commando in this past trip to keep having dreams like that when we were home- LOL

I dream often that we miss our plane, and that there is no other flights we can take for at least a week.

I also dream we are at MK and can't find any of the rides. We are stuck in this building and we can't find our way out.

We will be arriving at MCO exactly a week from this very moment... Hopefully we won't miss the plane AND we will find the rides at MK!!!
