In talking to our 5YO about our upcoming DL trip, I asked him which characters he most wanted to see (so we could make plans to definitely see them). After Reader Rabbit (from educational software, lol), he said Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas. Is there any Nightmare Before Christmas stuff at DL??

You just missed it. The Haunted Mansion Holiday (Nightmare Before Christmas overlay) was taken down earlier this month. I believe the Jack and Sally characters are only out during this time as well (that's the only time I've ever seen them.) There is plenty of Nightmare merchandise, though.

When are you going to DLR? If you were taking your son in late September through the beginning of January, you would have the great fortune of see the Haunted Mansion Holiday, which is the Haunted Mansion 'taken over' by the Nightmare Before Christmas characters. The whole ride has been transformed in this theme and is very cool. Jack and Sally are often out, posing for photos around the HMH during the Halloween season.

Also, the special Halloween fireworks that happened in October featured Jack Skellington as Master of Scareamonies. But....right now, if you go to DLR before late September, you won't see too much. There is a tiny little store in New Orleans Square called Le Bat en Rouge, which sells all NBC merchandise. Otherwise....that is all I can think of right now.

Jack and Sally are only out during October, they are not out Nov-Dec. There is a shop next to Pieces of Eight that is all Jack and HM stuff. At least it was when we were there a few weeks ago. DD's and I all got Jack arm warmers there. :)

That is Le Bat en Rouge. It is a hole in the wall, but that is the only place that is mostly NBC stuff that I have seen (well, I did get a tiny little HM snowglobe once that was 'regular' HM, not the HMH version, but everything else seems to be mostly NBC stuff).

Does Le Bat en Rouge sell a Zero Plush? I have been wanting one because he is my favorite character, and wanted to know if anyone has seen one. :magnify:

I saw a Zero plush there around Halloween, yes. It could have been the bean bag type though, I didn't look that closely.

Around Halloween there seemed to be way more Jack merchandise than I remembered from 2008. Even Emporium and World of Disney had several different t-shirts and sweatshirts, and other items I don't remember exactly anymore.

Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay runs only October through the end of December so you just missed it :sad2: For Halloweentime they do have Jack and Sally out for photo ops in New Orleans Square.

But is it still called that? Because it's now at the front of Pieces of Eight, not past the Blue Bayou like it used to be.

They DID have the Zero Plush around Halloween but when we were there for DD's bday trip in Dec they did NOT have it. I called Delivears about it and they told me to call them back in the Spring and they should have more. We looked EVERYwhere for the Zero but it was no where to be found. :(

Kerri, I think it's still called Le Bat en Rouge. It was called that the last time I peeked back there in the 'alley way'! The store in NOS that changed names, I believe, is that L'Ornament Magique, which became a Princess and the Frog-themed store (don't know what it is called now). But, unless Le Bat en Rouge has changed this year, that is still the hole-in-the-wall shop that sells all the NBC goodies and a few regular HM things too!

If you are wanting to purchase Nightmare stuff it was out in abundance when we were there 2 weeks ago. I found in in 3 or 4 shops. DS was upset that he couldn't get more. He really wanted the Jack beanie pillow. But he had already gotten a Jack sweatshirt, hat, gloves and something else.

If you are wanting to see Jack then that is a different story. He has long gone and wont' be back until next Halloween.

No Sherry, this is wrong. The shop that was Le Bat En Rouge doesn't exist anymore, now it's got Mickey Mouse clothes and Vinylmations in it. I know because we ALWAYS went into Le Bat because it was DD10 and my favorite store. :) They changed it a while back and I was so bummed until I realized they'd moved the HM and NBC stuff to the front of Pieces of Eight. AND we were on a major quest to find DD the stuffed Zero Plush with light up nose so we made SURE to look everywhere we knew Jack stuff was sold. I didn't check the shop name tho so don't remember if it's still called that. And we went in there when we were there for New Year's weekend, no Jack stuff, so unless they moved it all back since then there is no little Jack store in the back alley.

Le Bat en Rouge is still listed in the Shopping section of the DLR website as selling HM and HMH, etc., stuff (it was there just yesterday), so they definitely need to take that off the website if it is no longer there.

I don't know how long the store has been gone but I think my friend commented on it in October and I saw the Le Bat en Rouge sign but it looked different than it had looked the last time we went in the store. So perhaps the store itself moved to a different location but the name stayed the same?

Le Bat en rouge was definitely still there November 14. But pixiewings is right, the focus seems to have changed. I bought two vinylmations there and my receipt still gives Le Bat en rouge as store name. They still had NBC stuff though, but definitely not as extensive as I remembered from 2008.

Oh, I don't doubt that the focus of the store has changed. I was simply saying that Le Bat en Rouge still exists (although it used to be in a slightly different spot in NOS, correct?) and that is the store with the NBC stuff - at least it was until 2009. I don't think DLR will open up a new store to exclusively sell NBC things again (though that would be cool). They will probably just sprinkle NBC things throughout the various stores in DLR. Since Le Bat en Rouge is still advertised on the DLR website as selling HM and HMH things, I assume NBC falls under the 'HMH' umbrella, so perhaps they will sell more NBC things again when Halloweentime rolls around and scale back on the NBC stuff when it is not Halloween...though it seems like if they were going to do that kind of thing, they should just sell NBC stuff all through Halloween and Christmas time, when HMH is running.

ETA: All I know is that I bought something in Le Bat en Rouge in October 2008, and in my mind, it was a tiny hole in the wall shop tucked down an alleyway, wherever it was - then again, everything in NOS is 'down an alleyway' - and it was 80% NBC stuff at that time!! And when we we were there in October 2009, we walked past the shop and I thought it looked different for some reason - I guess because it had switched locations and it threw me off slightly? We did not go into the shop in 2009, though, so I did not see that the merchandise had shifted focus. But hopefully during the Fall and Winter months, they will sell more NBC stuff in conjunction with the HMH festivities.

So it does still have that name? That just seems very odd, that name makes more sense for HM & NBC stuff then for the Mickey Mouse stuff they had in there when we were last there. I specifically remember there was no NBC stuff because we wondered what they were thinking. LOL After we left I wondered if they had changed the name of that shop and "moved" Le Bat En Rouge to the front of Pieces of Eight.

Sherry, Le Bat is definitely selling different stuff, I just wasn't sure if they had changed the name of the store and it appears they did not. The HM/NBC stuff is now in the front of Pieces of Eight, they still have Pirate stuff but only in the "back half" where you exit the PotC ride. They also had a little cart of NBC stuff where you exited the HM ride. I'm sure that will go away soon enough, if it's not already gone. :)
It actually makes sense to have a HM/NBC store, people love Jack!! I get so many compliments on my Jack arm warmers, it's crazy! LOL :) It totally makes sense to me, but maybe that's because DD10 is such a HUGE Jack fan. LOL

Yes, it does. My receipt says so, and I found out last night that even took a photo of the store sign and it is the same as 2008.

I'm really not sure about the store switching locations though. I only go once a year (around Halloween) and I am almost sure the November 2008 location was the same as 2009. But maybe I am mixing up my alleys. ;)

I have no clue. Don't ask me! For all intents and purposes, just going by the description on the DLR 'Shopping' section of the website, it doesn't appear that there is anything really different about Le Bat en Rouge except for now they claim to also sell Pirates stuff in addition to the HM and HMH stuff, which is definitely new from what they used to sell. The last time I actually went in LBER and bought something in 10/08, there was no POTC stuff in that store that I saw (if there was, it was so minor I didn't notice it). It was mostly Nightmare Before Christmas stuff, with a few regular HM things tossed in here and there.

When we walked by LBER in 10/09, while we did not go in, something looked different to me about the front of the store, but it may have been just that the merchandise was different (now that it is not mostly NBC stuff) and so it gave it a slightly different look. I don't know what it was. I personally have no idea if the store moved or didn't move, because it is still located down an alleyway! (I just assumed it was right next to Pieces of Eight, but I really don't remember which part of which alleyway it is located on!) All I know is Le Bat en Rouge is still there in some capacity, and the DLR website claims that it is still selling HM, HMH and POTC things, but apparently, from what you said, Vala, LBER shifted the focus of the merchandise so it is not all NBC stuff.

I have no clue about the store Kerri is referring to that is selling Mickey stuff. We didn't even attempt to go near any shops in NOS last month because the park was way too crowded in general!! But I know that L'Ornament Magique turned into a Princess and the Frog-themed store with a different name. I wonder if that will store change 'theme' & name again when the Princess and the Frog is no longer current?

The ornament store is selling Princess & Frog stuff, we were right behind in the Court of Angels when we waited to meet Tiana & Naveen. So that's exactly right. Le Bat was down the alley past the BB, Pieces of Eight is the store that used to be almost all PotC stuff, it had/has 2 "main" entrances, the one as you exit Pirates (BB is to the left, Pieces of Eight is to the right), it now has Pirate stuff as you exit Pirates but the other end (that is near NOS/Cafe Orleans/the bread bowl place/the Dream Suite stairs) has the HM/NBC stuff. Le Bat is the store that has the Mickey stuff in it now, NO more NBC stuff at all. That's why I was wondering if they were still going to call it Le Bat, it doesn't make sense to call it that if they don't have HM/NBC stuff in there......LOL
