We're going to Orlando in Jan, not staying on site. We're going with our two kids and mother-in-law and her husband. I'm thinking it would be fun to plan a night out for my husband and I. Where would you make ADRs? I was thinking California Grill for the fireworks one night or Dinner before the MGM Fantasia show...or ???? Anyone have any other suggestions. We'll probably just do one night out for us, so I want to pick a good place.

I would look at any of the signature spots, though I have heard that CAGrill is often overrun with families at the fireworks time and often loud. The other signature spots are usually more adult oriented.

We really liked Jiko. Citricos was also excellent.

I vote Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian and you also get a great view of Wishes.

I agree about Narcoossee's.

My husband and I have done California Grill and now prefer to go there when they DON'T have fireworks. It's much more fun.

We did Narcoossee's in late June this year for the first time and it was really great. The food was wonderful. The somelier was extremely easy to talk to (we're definitely not experts and told him so) and our waiter was very attentive without being intrusive (he never came over when I had food in my mouth!). When it was time for fireworks, we all trooped outside and had a very nice view. I think they even piped in the music. The weather was lovely and you don't have the crazy wind that you get at CA grill on their balcony. It was a very enjoyable evening.

Have Fun!

Of the Signature restaurants we've dined at, we think Artist Point offers the best experience overall. We haven't tried CG yet. Two restaurants we plan to try next trip are bluezoo & Bistro de Paris. We like a relaxed, quieter atmosphere, so we can talk over dinner without having to yell. Both of these sound like they'll fit the bill better than most WDW restaurants. Bistro will require you have a park ticket to get into Epcot.

That said, if I were in your shoes, I'd probably go to Emeril's at Universal's Citywalk. Try for one of the few upstairs tables for a really romantic atmosphere. We've eaten there many times & never tried anything that wasn't fabulous. Just a thought. :)
