Night of Joy???s

Anyone ever been to this in Sept. It looks like a really cool thing to do if you are a Christian rock/pop fan.

We are considering it for next year but would like some feedback from those who have attended.

The lineup this year looks very impressive, Third Day, Michael W. Smith to name a few. Some very big names in the Christian music world will be there.

So my question is how long to these folks play? Do they do a few songs, a full set? That kind of stuff. Do they all play the same stage or are they on different stages at same time?

Any other info would be helpful also

usually they play for about 30-45 min, take a break for you to go to another concert, or other people to come to them from other concerts....

I have gone for the past 3 years, and 3 random years before then.....the lines for rides are LONG, but I have never had any problem seeing the concerts (even though there are a lot of people watching them too) there's really no place around here that you could see that lineup so I think its awesome......

I'm excited they expanded it this year! YAY! haha

We went for two years in a row. As the previous poster said it is awesome with all of the Chsristian performers there at one time.

I am probably going to be yelled at for this but just wanted to let you know how we felt. First of all both DH and myself are Christians. We have nothing against teenagers, we were one"s ourselves years ago.

A lot of churches send kids up on buses and I think once the doors of the buses are open they are just let go. They are wild,rude, completely un controlled. They are horrid. Now I know just because they are suppose Christains, does not mean they will behave themselves, but there did not seem to be anyone in control of them at all.

We have stopped going on account of this. On our last tour at Dieny in May the Tour guide was asked a question about the Cm"s and special occassions and she said usually they have more than they can use to cover the event, except for one. And Yes It was Night of JOy. She said they have to beg the CM's to work it.

This is just IMHO but it seems that since they are suppose Christains, they feel they can get away with this kind of behavior.

My wife and I are huge Christian Music fans and have been to concert festivals all over the United States (I used to be in the Navy, so we've been everywhere ), and we've never enjoyed a concert festival as much as Night of Joy.

There's something special about WDW, and when you combine it with AWESOME Christian music....it left us with some incredible memories.

Particularly special was the intimacy of the stages. I've never gotten so close to the bands, even at custom designed concert venues. And the backdrops (the castle, space mountain, etc.) are spectacular.



As far as what the last poster had to say....one thing to remember is that many of the kids there are NOT Christians...they've been brought by their friends etc. Also, we noticed if you concentrated on seeing the shows, and didn't worry too much about catching the rides (you paid to see the music, anyway) this is much less of a problem. Most of the rowdy kids are NOT there to see the music, and will be around the rides. If you go see the shows, you will love it and come away with an enormous gratitude to God for allowing events like these to happen.



A little advice from someone that was stationed in Orlando...take a break before going back into the park for NOJ, and bring a spray bottle and umbrella with you. It is September in Orlando, and it will be HOT and it is likely to rain, at least for one of the three nights.

I know this is very long, but one more thing....after this event, my wife and I bought into DVC so we could bring our kids back year after year to see the shows (and the Christmas stuff). If Christian people don't encourage Disney to continue to do fun family oriented stuff like this, it will fall bye the wayside. We can't wait to go back in the future!
