Night of joy or Christmas

Night of Joy can be busy, but is nothing like Christmas. Night of Joy generally attracts a younger but well behaved crowd. There is lots of great Christian music at several venues in the park. Christmas, on the other hand, will have a more varied crowd and a wide variety of Christmas decorations and shows. From a Christian perspective, the Candlelight processional is also a great show where they read the birth of Jesus from the Bible with a choir. It is very popular and uplifting. I would choose Christmas, unless I was really into a night of Christian rock. I love Christian rock, but would rather listen to it at home and see Christmas and the Candlelight Processional at Disney. Both are wonderful experiences.

Sorry - to directly answer your question: We were at Disney late August and early September 2013 when Night of Joy was held. While Night of Joy was a big draw, that time of year is the least crowded time of year. It was a great time. Hot but uncrowded.

If you decide to go for the Christian Bands, you should look into Rock the Universe at Universal as well as Night of Joy at Disney. Unfortunately, they are held the exact same nights. A large number of the headlining band alternate between the 2 venues. When bands get set, I'd look at both parks and decide which has the bands I'd prefer listening to. Universal normally has great prices on their "rock your weekend" tickets that include tickets to the parks and tickets to the concerts. They are normally cheaper than tickets to the parks alone but they are dated for that weekend only.

That is a good idea
