Hello all, I was thinking about buying a ticket to the Friday Night of Joy this year and was wondering do all the rides stay open like at MNSSHP? Mainly I'm asking because we haven't had a chance to ride the Mine Train yet and thought that might be a good night to try.

Any help would be appreciated!

They do leave many, but not all, of the rides open during the event. Their marketing for this event specifically lists the mine train as an available attraction, so it should be open that night.

Awesome. Thank you so much Fratthouse. I looked on the disney site and didn't happen to see what rides were listed. I would assume with all the different stages that the ride lines would be relatively short, right? When we went to MNSSHP last year in early September, you could pretty much walk on to rides.

I don't think they've listed the rides that will be open yet, but if you click this link - https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/night-of-joy-individual/ - and expand under the section "2 nights of music and magic" you can see this paragraph:

"In addition to their inspirational music, enjoy your fill of Disney magic too—including classic entertainment and thrilling new attractions like the family-friendly Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster."

So it sounds like the ride should for sure be open.

I haven't tried riding too many rides during the event (I'm usually just there for the music), so I'm not sure what the lines are like. I would guess it gets later in the evening, the lines might get shorter. But given the newness / popularity of this ride, your best bet might still just be to get a FP+ for during regular park hours if you can.

chances are, yes, Mine Train will be open, but no, I don't think the line will be short for it.

Night of Joy draws much of it's crowd from inside the state, relative locals... This means that for most of the folks, they've done all the rides before, and something new will be a new draw for them. I expect that 7DMT will have a substantially long line, due to the newness factor, and that it's being billed as a "rollercoaster" (Still haven't been myself, that weekend will be the first for me, as well!)

The lines probably won't be as long as a typically busy day, but they'll probably still be long enough to notice.
