Night of Joy 2006

Question - I was looking at the line-up and there are some great acts here. We are not planning on attending this year as our kids are a little young for it yet and we already have our itinerary set, but for future reference....How do you know which bands are playing where and at what time? Like, if tickets were still available and we decided to go - we already have ADR's set for both nights around 7 so we wouldn't be able to get to MK till probably close to 9 - how would we know if we were going to miss our favorites or not??

When we went before you picked up a schedule as you went in, so you don't really know ahead of time when and where your favorites will be. That makes it hard to plan ahead (for us compulsive overplanners!) And they do overlap, so it's bad when there are two you want to see at the same time.

We actually will know when and where each band will play. The schedule was online about two weeks prior last year. I have been watching for it, but nothing yet. I can tell you though that Mercy Me will be a headliner and won't play until around 11:00pm on the Castle Stage.

I will post the schedule as soon as I see it. Everyone else do the same, if you happen to come across it.

We were there in 2004 and 2005. Last year, it was MUCH more crowded. We only rode a few rides. In 2004, dd and I went on Splash Mountain over and over. And Pooh! It was SO much fun.

We're not able to go this year. I just try not to think about it, and probably won't listen to z883.com (sponsoring radio station) until after it's over.

Sorry to hear you can't come this year. You are right though, last year was VERY crowded! Lucky for me, I have a handicapped friend that I go with and she gets to sit up at the stage in the special section, so we don't have to deal with much of it when the concert is going on. Of course getting in and out of that section is bad, very very bad!

Hi All -

I'll be there with my mom! Just us girls. We're flying down Friday am and leaving Monday late afternoon. We've got our NOJ tickets already!

We took my 2 younger DS's in 2004. It was empty and rainy. It didn't matter, we had a great time. Space Mountain was just waiting for people to walk on. We rode it like 5 times in a row!

Curious though, I remember NOJ being Thursday, Friday & Saturday night. Am I having a memory blip, or has it been shortened?

Night of Joy was big reason DW and I wanted to go in Sept. Never been in ept. and REALLY wanted to do Night of Joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll be there Sept.1-10 . Here we come Mickey

Are there any fireworks on NOJ nights? We won't be going, but we'll be eating at 'Ohana one of those nights and we like to watch them from the beach. Thanks for your help!

Thanks vmkids!!! That should be the schedule, looks pretty acurate. Suprised they have Barlowgirl on the main stage though and RSJ is not. Saturday nights lineup isn't that great IMO, but oh well, will have a nice night instead.

No, you are correct. In 2004 there were 3 nights, Thursday - Saturday. Last year they cut it to two nights, don't know why!

mgwd69, I hope you aren't coming only for Night of Joy. Not sure where you can get tickets at though, check eBay maybe. Don't forget there is Rock the Universe over at Universal. They have a decent line up for Friday night, including Newsboys!!!

I made the same mistake and did not get tickets and I am really bummed. I looked on eBay with no uck so if anyone has any advice, please PM me or post here.

If you are already going to be down there, I would get to the park at 4pm and hope someone is selling theirs outside. Not sure if that is even allowed, but in case it happens, I would be there looking around.

An amazing thing happened when we got to MK around 11:00 on Friday. There was a big sign saying the event for that evening was sold out. I hd to go buy my AP at Guest Services and just asked if any tickets had become available. The CM said no she did not think any would become available but she checked the computer anyway. Suddenly there were tickets and she was as surprised as I was.

I was indeed fortunate to be at the right place at the right time and it just goes to show that you should always ask.

I ended up not going on Sat. night. I only wanted to see Jeremy Camp anyway, but it was raining and I didn't feel good, so didn't go after all. I did go Friday night and it was awesome!

I went Friday only but that was the night I really wanted. I hope to go back again in the future but will plan ahead better.

We went both nights and it was WAY more crowded than 2004!

We had fun, though, and DD got a front row spot for Hawk Nelson, so she was thrilled!

Also got the t-shirt and it was cuter than 2004 too.

I am seriously considering NOJ for next year! Sounds like a GREAT time for all! My kids wouldn't love it, too!
