Anyone else going to be there? Our countdown has begun. 11 of us going down for it. I can't wait!

Just checking again, if anyone is out there! It is getting so close, it is kind of stressing me out really. Can't wait though

:bounce: I'm going! It's my first time and me and my family are all going for a week. :cool1:

Welcome to our lonely little thread Amber. Have you gotten your tickets yet? We haven't actually, but are getting them next week.

We will be there then but are not going to Night of Joy. Could you tell me more about it. Are the rides open? Is it very crowded?

Do you know what Night of Joy is? If not, it is a Christian Concert event, over two nights. They have 4 stages I believe set up, one being the Castle stage, the other being the real stage over near Buzz Lightyear. One is near Splash Mountain and the other is near POTC I think.

Usually the big bands are on the Castle stage. It is crazy crowded actually and the rides are all open, but the sit down restaurants are not. I think a couple of the counter service are open though, but not all of them. We found the crowds to be fun though and usually there is music playing all over when there aren't bands playing, and everyone is singing along.

I wouldn't go just to ride rides though, not worth it.

We haven't gotten our tickets yet. We were gonna wait until the middle of next month or the beginning of september. From experience do you know how soon the tickets sell out. and i know that casting crowns and mercy me will both be there this year. do they usually have the big bands playing at the same time on different stages?

I also noticed you are staying at the PC...so are we. We are usually a deluxe family but the PC looked fun. Is it all its cracked up to be? (I know this is the wrong forum sorry)

We LOVE the PC!!! THe only negative about it, during Night of Joy, is everyone seems to be staying there. So, if you are driving, there will be NO parking spaces left when you get back to the resort. Luckily we were in a room right near the main building, as we had to park all the way over there. It was crazy!

And I wouldn't wait too long to get the tickets if I were you, you wouldn't want to be sorry. We are getting ours next week, so they are on the next billing cycle of our credit card. The next month would be pushing it too much and I would be afriad to wait until just a couple weeks before to get them.

And last year, Mercy Me was the headliner the one night, on the Castle stage, but Casting Crowns was back at the Splash Mountain stage and it was too crazy to even get near them. I hope they get the Castle this year.

I am very sad my newsboys won't be there though.

Thanks...I was aware of what Night of Joy is. I just did not know how they set up for it and if there were rides too. That you for answering me. We were supossed to go when it was canceled. I am not sure that we could go if it is packed with people though because we have a lot of small children. Maybe next year though. I would love to go. We love Mercy Me! Sounds like lots of fun. :cool1:

Help me out here - We will be staying at Pop Century from Sept 4-14. Will it be packed just the weekend of NOJ - or do most people stay longer? Also - do you know if this affects crowds in the parks during the day? I was under the impression that the majority of people who attend this are locals and it doesn't really affect the parks and hotels that much. Is this wrong? Sounds like a great time and may check it out someday when my kids are older, but for now I'm just hoping this won't put a crimp in our vacation :) Thanks for any info!! (How many tickets do they sell to this thing?)

MK closes early those nights so epcot and MGM will take a lot of those not going to NOJ. IMO it is mostly local groups, but they may stay a night or two, and I'm sure some people from out of town plan to come like above posts. That time of year is not too busy though, If your gonna be here I wouldn't worry too much, the weekend might be busy, the rest should be ok.

I believe that most of NOJ goers are local so only stay those couple nights. The parks during the day are AWESOME!!! Best crowds ever, even over our December and January trips.

DD15 and I will be there! (see my countdown!) And we are also staying at PC (6th - 13th). We've stayed there 4 times and we love it! The food court can get really crowded and maybe the pool, but other than that it's not that noticeable to me. Oh, except for the buses at closing time. Other than that the buses are usually great.

We came to our first NOJ in 2004 and had a wonderful time. It rained one of the nights (make sure you bring a poncho or umbrella), but there was no one on the rides! We rode Splash Mtn. 3 times in a row with no line. The concerts were crowded, but as long as you didn't want to be right up front they were still enjoyable. We had the best time, and were sorry to miss 2005, but so happy to be going back this year!

I've already bought our tickets and will pick them up at "Will Call".

We are SO EXCITED and can't wait for September!

I saw your post on here. Me and my husband live in PC and are going to night of joy with our college and career class from our church....Sounds like you all wit have a great vacation if you stop through here the week before.

p.s. I see you are loosing weight. If you ever need and encouragement, I happen to be a weight loss consultant

Glad to see more DISers are going! I am all ready, got our tickets and everything now. Our airfare went down to $86 r/t, which just makes it all better. Maybe we should all plan to wear some lime green, so we can look for one another.

Question - I was looking at the line-up and there are some great acts here. We are not planning on attending this year as our kids are a little young for it yet and we already have our itinerary set, but for future reference....How do you know which bands are playing where and at what time? Like, if tickets were still available and we decided to go - we already have ADR's set for both nights around 7 so we wouldn't be able to get to MK till probably close to 9 - how would we know if we were going to miss our favorites or not??

We are flying in from Colorado for the NOJ. American Airlines had a great rate and, with the free dining promotion, we just couldn't resist because we would be "saving so much money" on this unplanned adventure. Probably some faulty logic there. We are staying at Pop.

I wish I was going this year, I went last year and I LOVED it!!!!! It was soooooooo awesome! One of my good friends is going again this year( we went together last year to it along with two other friends). I decide to go in Dec. this year, so I could do MVMCP and see Disney at Christams time.

I'll be arriving that Friday, but I will not be going. I hope you guys will have a GREAT time! Jump for me!!!! :Pinkbounc
