After the shows, and after dinner, what is there to do on the ship? Are there lounges where you can get drinks and entertainment? Does everything close up early since it's Disney? I guess I'm thinking the ship might be geared mostly to kids and we are older adults!

Define early for you... The bars and lounges are generally open to midnight or later. Since it's Disney, they will keep them open as late as it is economically feasible.

Check out some of the Navigators that have been posted (example). There are late evening alcohol tastings (10:30pm Cognac Tasting in the example), comedy shows, adult only games, etc. It's not exactly a 24 hour rave, but you'll probably be able to find something to your liking.

Very nice bars & lounges. Problem is there isn't much of night life on DCL. 4 cruises on all 4 ships and have never seen much going on past midnight.

All of The bars are open until at least midnight, I think. The tube/eurpoa (I've only cruised dream and fantasy) are open until 2,I think. That bar has some kind of entertainment each night - some nights it's only for 30-45 minutes (starting at 10), usually a couple of the main show entertainers will do an adult only show a couple of nights, karaoke one night for an hour. The place usually cleared out after the nightly activity - a few people staying for a drink and dancing.

We wish they had more stuff going later, or had some themed music nights. We'd stay around later if they did.

I know the Edge (tween club) had stuff going to 2:00 AM most nights of our 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise. I'd be very surprised if the adult clubs closed at midnight.

Most of the bars close around 11:00. I really didn't care for the bar setup as much as I did on the Dream but I was out until close to closing every night. In May we spent most of our time at the Cove pool bar because we found a previous bartender friend working there but it shut down around 10:30 but was a great place to meet people while still being able to see the ocean plus you can take a dip in the pool once in a while. I hated the sports bar on the Fantasy. I loved the one on the Dream (687) because you could see the ocean through windows but on the Fantasy there were no windows and felt claustrophobic plus the bar stools weren't tall enough for the bar. Skyline is pretty cool but will probably close around midnight. The dance Bar is open until 2 am and is very loud, they do run some entertainment in the 10-11 area but after that it is pretty much loud music and on most nights very few people. On 80's night it stayed pretty full but the rest of the nights it was dance music and pretty empty. If hungry they do have a mini appetizer buffet in the bar area around 11:00 with things like wings, mozz sticks, chicken fingers and things like that. My kind of food!

we've been on the fantasy twice but have not really explored the nightlife as our son was 1 and 3 yrs old, respectively, so was not much of a nightowl. He's now 5 and is staying up much later now so I'm hoping he'll enjoy the clubs much later.

We were on the Wonder last year and didnt see much in the way of nightlife. Usually it was just me, wife, piano player, and bar tender in the Cadillac Lounge (my favorite )

Here's the times from the Navigator on our Fantasy cruise, most clubs "closed" at midnight. That's parenthesized because, in my experience, if there are people in the clubs at closing, still enjoying themselves, the bartender/servers tend to stick around a while.

On our Wonder cruise last month, the last entertainment for the evening I saw was 11:45pm and it was the cruise staff DJ in Wavebands every night.

If it was the Hawaii cruise, from what I understand, DCL was playing some games with how late clubs were open in order to account for time zone changes. I know that on the return trip, clubs tended to be open an hour later (with events happening an hour later, in some cases) because we were losing an hour every other day. I would imagine that on the way in, they would have shut things down somewhat earlier due to gaining an hour every other day.

Evolution on The Dream has always stayed open until 2am in my experience.
The other bars do close at midnight, though, which makes me a little sad as I LOVE the atmosphere of Skyline, and would love to spend all night just watching the scenery change. :)

We found that, while the bar service may be closed, we were able to go into Skyline and just sit there watching the view at any time.

Since we have late seating, we often adjourn to one of the lounges for an after-dinner drink or two, or to see one of the performers. If they have a magician or comedian onboard, that person will often do a late night show in one of the lounges. As a general rule, we enjoy them more than the regular show. I've seen very little dancing take place in the evenings - perhaps a couple or two here and there. But sometimes by midnight the ship almost seems to turns into a pumpkin, especially if folks have an early excursion time the next morning. On the other hand, on our first cruise there were several party groups who would go at it pretty strong until the lounges closed.
