I'm going to Disneyland the weekend of Feb 27- March 2 (taking advantage of the free birthday deal) I've been going to DL for years, but as a kid, then as a parent. This time I'm going as an adult without my family, but with a group of friends. I want to dance!! :cool1: Is there anyplace to go dancing? I know there used to be swing dance at the Carnation plaza pavilion. Do they still do that? Where is there club dancing?

Thanks.

Play like a kid in the parks during the day and play like an adult at night at Downtown Disney. House of Blues and a couple other places have dancing and a decent night life atmosphere, especially on the weekends.

Have fun!

See what the House of Blues has going on then, sometimes they have concerts. :) Garlic capitol of the world huh? You must be in Gilroy. :)

Ya, House of Blues for sure!

If you're wanting some drinks, DTD has a cool outdoor bar area called the Uva Bar I believe??

No swing club this past Oct. I think they did away with that. HOB MAY have a decent concert at that time you can get the event listings on their site. When I checked for our trip start of March no one good/or heard of was listed that we would want to see but you never know. No real dancing places in dtd they have the Uva bar but it's a bar/tapas.

I think the poster is talking about the Swing and Jive dance party they have on the weekends near the left side of the castle. We saw it on the calendar in the summertime, so I'm guessing you'll have to check the calendar and see if that band is playing or not in Feb.

That is one of the things that I think is pretty cool about DL. I like how there use to be date nights and couples could dance the night away at Disneyland. How cool is that?!? I think they also have a rock band play in tommorowland during the summer months too.

Again check the calendar at Disneyland.com

They only do swing parties on friday and saturday nights. I guess sometimes it might be cancelled, or maybe they cut back to only saturday nights, but as far as I know, they're still doing it. :confused3 I remember one time I was there it was raining and they held it inside The Golden Horseshoe. THAT was fun. Wish they did it there more often!

I used to see the Punk Rockers hanging out in Tomorrowland at night. But they weren't dancing. :rotfl2: Don't know if they still do that or not.

Years ago DL used to have Date Night where they had dancing on Friday and Sat. night. Like in the 50's and 60's. Didn't know they still did anything like that. They also used to have that club like place near Fantasyland in the 80's I think.

DH and I love to get drinks and some small plates at Uva Bar under the lights and people watch and listen to the music. I just love that. The live music at Jazz Kitchen is amazing, too but no dancing that i know of.

Yes, that was one of the dancing things I was asking about. I didn't see anything about it on the calendar. But club dancing is also cool. I do all sorts of dancing - ballroom, swing, contra, square, club, blues, historic - so if there is any type of dancing in resort area, I'd like to try and find it.

It's my birthday, I'd like to dance for it.

I believe that was Videopolis. I remember it existed, but never got the chance to dance there.

It's showing on the calendar for our trip on Feb 14th:
Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party Featuring Doc Anello and the Swing Machine

Also:
Tomorrowland Terrace Presents Tomasina
(cover band that plays popular music).

Fun!

Not really any dancing, but the Lost Bar over at the Disneyland Hotel is always a fun place I like to go with my friends to just hang out and grab a couple of drinks.
