I apologize now if I am talking about a DISer without knowing it...
The other day I was in DCA and I saw a family travelling with two children, both in strollers. I could tell one, with the older child, was a special needs stroller, though a lot of people probably wouldn't.
There was a sign on the awning of the special needs stroller that was yellow and diamond shaped (like the caution signs used on the roads). there was a row of "autism-awareness" puzzle pieces and something to the effect of "Autistic Child - We do not follow commands"
I thought this was a useful sign as I am guessing a lot of CMs and others would be trying to as the child to do things (like stand up to check height) and this would have helped explain things without having to either keep repeating or have to explain out loud what the condition is.
I just thought this was a nifty shortcut ad that I would share it here.
