My niece turns three on the second day of our September trip. I know the rule is that if she is 2 when the trip starts she does not need a ticket. My question, will we spend alot of time explaining this to cast members when we enter the park and go through the FP+ lines? I know if they ask her she will proudly state that she is 3:) She is currenntly 38 1/4 inches tall. No idea if that is tall for a two year old. I gave a fleeting thought to just buying her a ticket but know that is a waste of money. Just curious as to what others have experienced.

Zero explanation is necessary.

Disney does not ask for "proof."
Disney only asks for honestly.

The child does not need a ticket or a FP.

Have fun!

Of course Robo is correct, but if you still have a niggling worry about it, have her mom tuck a copy of her birth certificate in her purse or pocket. But I highly doubt she'll need it.

We just got back from a trip to DW. Our dates were 6/13-6/20. My DS turned 3 on 6/20. We were asked 1 time the entire time we were there if he was 3. He is a tall kid, I'm 6'4 so he comes by it honestly lol. He walked into FP lines, through the gates, ate at restaurants nothing was ever said. I would not purchase a ticket! Go and enjoy : )

You're right about the rule and I've been with each of my kids when they were 1mo or less before their 3rd birthday (2avg height and 1 tall kid) . I recall offering at restaurants that they were under 3 and asking how meals work for that age, but basically never was asked by anyone about their ages.

Our DD turned 3 during mid week of our last trip also. If your child isn't 3 by the first day of your trip then he/she is free your entire trip, even if he/she turns 3 on the trip, so no worries. That's disneys own rules. We never were questioned, not at gates, not at rides, not at meals, never. Disney is very respectable and trusts our word id assume. You will not need it but if it would ease your mind you could always bring the birth certificate.
