My DS12 likes them. Im not to worried about him listening to them. Im sure he has heard it all on the playground at school.

Motley Crue was/is my favorite band!!! Count me in as being the same age as well! My kids listen to alot of music and I guess I don't think much of it. My DD (3) love Christina Aguiellera and my DS (5) loves Panic. So I guess I don't really think much of it.

Ds12 is my asperger's kid and has mainly only listened to the music of XTC & The Beatles - since when he started liking music dh figured he would get him to like what *he* liked! A few months ago he started at a new school and he gets driven in a van with another boy. The driver plays the radio so ds has been exposed to music he hadn't been exposed to at home since we rarely listen to the radio. Maybe he can just download that one song..

My DD listens to them and I rather that than some of the other "artists" out there. I also remmerb some of the music playing at that age and how it was just music to us, we didn't interpret it as real life back then.

I consider myself a thinking person, but I love the song "Animals." Sometimes I just want to hear a song that I can turn up and enjoy without thinking of anything.
That out of the way, I would not let my 12 year old hear that song. I really like the idea of doing some research on the words and downloading the songs you deem appropriate. I think I'll be doing that in a few years.
