Hi,

We are planning a trip to Disney in early November. My children are ages 3 & 7. Nick Jr. hotel sounds amazing and I love the idea of the 2 bedroom suite (as far as I know this type of suite is not available on Disney property??). I know Nick Jr. has shuttles to Disney parks, but how long is the ride?

We also plan to visit Sea World -- do they have shuttles to this as well?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Nancy

Nick Suites are awesome. We did not use the transportation because we had a van. I think I read that the buses run every 30 minutes or so. My girls love this place. There is lots to do and they keep the kids busy. They have bingo, slime time, shows and also a Nick at Night program. Mom and Dad can go out and they watch the kids. They go backstage...... Have dinner and play games and do lots of fun things. There is a fee for that. Anyway. We love this place. Highly recommended.....

I know I pass the Nick hotel on the way to the disney parks from the Vistana resort where we often stay. I can get to the theme parks in about 10-15 min depending on which one we're going to. I can't imagine the bus wouldn't take about the same amount of time---maybe 15-20 min during busy season. I'm just not certain if they make stops anywhere else on the way to wdw. Maybe someone can help you out with that one. I did notice the Nick site said the shuttle stops at different hotels when going to and from Universal, IOA, Sea World and Wet 'N Wild. Looks like maybe it's a direct route to and from the WDW parks.

Also, here you can download the shuttle service schedule to the different parks (pretty convenient) Looks like they require 1 day advance reservations for the bus : http://www.nickhotel.com/area_bus_schedule.jsp

you had to make a reservation to use the shuttles when we were there in dec. we did not use them, but the hotel is maybe at the most a ten minute ride to the parking lot of disney

they offer transport to the 4 WDW Parks, Universal Orlando, Sea World, and Wet n Wild. The shuttles run every 45 or so minutes to WDW. The Sea World shuttle runs only once or twice per day. They're no more than 10-20 mins to any of the WDW parks, and no more than 30 to the other attraction.

Hello. My family is going on a disney cruise in December- it leaves on a sunday. After the cruise we are going to disney world for 8 days. My daughter really wants to stay at he nick jr hotel- and i already booked our trip to stay in disney world. There are 14 going - 7 adults and 7 kids- so i can not just up and change the reservations. I plan on going down before Sunday anyway since we are leaving from PA- i do not want to miss the ship- so i was thinking of maybe stayaing at Nick Jr 1 or 2 nights before. Does anyone know how far the Nick Jr hotel is from the port? Or is this a bad idea? also has anyone ever stayed at he nick hotel in december?

Hi Nancy:)

Actually Disney does have a 2 bedroom suite available - they're at the Value resort, AllStar Music.

And if you want to splurge a little, you can look at the Disney Vacation Club Villas, studio, one and 2 bedrooms are available (3 bed Grand Villas are available at BWV, OKW, and SSR) they can be booked directly through Disney, or you can privately rent them from the timeshare owners.

We've booked connecting rooms at the Value resorts for our family of 4 (our boys are 8), with room discounts that WDW offers, it's been great..2 bathrooms, 2 tvs, and just that little extra floor space is wonderful:)

HTH!!

I think that's a great idea:thumbsup2

Cape Canaveral - if you're driving your own car - would be an easy trip and just over an hour.

You could spend Thursday/Friday night at Nick, leave for CC late Saturday afternoon, check in at one of the hotels in CC (heard the Ron Jon is good), and be at the ship, easily:)

Stop along the way, pick up your water and other shipboard necessities, and you're good to go:)

Even leaving early Sunday am would work as well.

HTH!!

Thank you. I would not be driving my own car we are flying out of philadelphia and we are trying to avoid renting a car because we have 7 kid- so we would need some sort of service that provides car seats? Also is there alot ot do during the day at the nick jr hotel besidesthe pool- since we are going in december- you never know how warm or not so warm it may be?

Nickelodeon Family Suites is the hotel you are talking about and it is about a 5-10 minute drive to WDW and 15-20 minutes to Seaworld or Universal on I4. They do have a bus schedule but we have never used it since we have a rental car so we can be on our own schedule. You could check the website though. I think you have to reserve your space on the shuttles if I remember correctly from a previous poster.

This is an old thread but I thought I'd updated it because people like me are still finding this thread through Google and still have questions about it.

Yes, you have to book your trip. This is rather unfortunate because, for us, we want to come and go when we feel like it. If I get tired I want the ability to get back to my hotel when I need / want, not at some pre-defined schedule.

Because of this, I am probably going to be looking elsewhere.

For anyone who has not been to the Nick Hotel recently, all I keep hearing from friends (and online reviews) is how the hotel has gone down hill for maintenance and cleanliness. We use to love this hotel but from our friends (we live in Tampa) we don't think we would stay here again.

Also, if you are going in the winter months, the pool is heated, however, the water coming out of the pipes for the water slides are not heated. Just FYI.

I was going to say this as well. We also considered staying there since my DD loves Nick Jr shows, but after researching the hotel, I could see that is gets terrible terrible reviews and decided against it.
