We're looking at staying at the Nick hotel for 1 day in a couple of weeks and I had a few questions about it.

1. Can we use the pool before the 4pm check in, like with Disney?

2. How much is the character breakfast?

1. Yes
2. I don't remember the exact amount, but on 7/10/11 I want to say it was around $22 per adult and $12 per child, plus tax.

I was looking to stay here with my kids for a day or two but some of the reviews scare me. Can anyone who has stayed there recently ease my fears?

We just stayed there for 1 night this past Saturday, July 9. I too read the reviews and was expecting the worst, but there was no talking my DS6 out of this, he is a huge SpongeBob fan!
We did find some of the issues mentioned on the reviews, but others not at all.
What we did find:
- Crowded and crazy: this was a summer weekend, and, as expected, it was a madhouse! We got to the main pool at around 11:00 am and after a couple of walks around the whole area were able to find 1 free pool chair, but were able to get a couple of lounges a little later. Other than many unsupervised children running around and bumping into you, cutting in line, etc., we did not experience any other disturbing guest behavior: everyone seemed to be just having fun!
- Thin walls: Although the walls and door to the outside were very good at keeping down the pool noise (we did have a lagoon pool room), the walls between units were another story. We could hear ALL KINDS OF SOUNDS coming from our neighbors :scared1: Actually, they were not too bad and you could tell were trying to be discreet, but if you get noisy neighbors, it could be a big problem.
What we did not find:
-Dirty rooms, property: our room was spotless, and the hotel in general was well maintained, we did not experience any of the stuff we read about, like bugs in the room, dirty/run down furniture, filthy hallways, etc.
-Rude, uncaring staff: we found everyone to be super friendly and fun, always smiling and asking us if we needed help.

My son had a blast here (actually, DH and I did too!), and, although I wouldn't want to stay for a week, one or 2 nights are OK. I am sure we will be returning while he is still young.

We stayed when my DS was 5. WARNING: He liked the hotel better than Disney! The whole time in the park, he was wanting to be back at the hotel. If you stay here, alot some time to just hang out here. Maybe just a little too kid friendly:)

We were there the first week in March. It was not the Ritz Carlton but it was very clean, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Its really just a themed motel. I would definitely stay there again but I do think 2-3 nights is enough and make sure you get a good rate. I have heard that there are hidden fees but we bought a Sea World package so it was all inclusive of the "fees".

The only problem we had was our TV didnt work but I called the front desk and they sent someone up within 15 minutes.

We ate at the character breakfast which was comparable to any Disney character breakfast (IMO but with different characters). However there were many empty seats, so walk ups were not a problem.
