Nick Hotel in December?

Anyone ever been in December? I'm a bit leery about spending so much money for a room when I don't even know if it will be warm enough to use the water park. What other things do they have for the kids at Christmas time?

We stayed here in Dec. 2007 and only one of the pool areas was open. Kind of a drag, since we had wonderful weather, and our room was on the opposite end of the hotel. There were only 2 other families at the character breakfast so we got a LOT of time with Diego, Dora, and Blue. (DD &DS do not watch/like Sponge Bob). I think they had some crafts and other things going on, but we didn't do any of them - just the pool area , which was great!
