Nick hotel - check out?

Ok - I have searched and the most recent information is from a few years back.

I have reserved 1 night for the Nick hotel only to eat with the Turtles - I do not plan on staying in their room. I may not actually even go to the room.

They are having Snow when we are there so the kids may take part in that and eat with the Turtles but then we are leaving. I have found out that you either have to call from your room or go to the front desk to check out.

But I was just reading my reservation and there is a spot on there that says that I will be charged a early departure fee.

Does anyone know how much the early departure fee is?

I was wanting to pay cash for the remainder of my reservation - I paid for 1/2 when I booked it.

I called the hotel and the girl that answered the phone said that "yes a fee would be imposed if I checked out before 11:00 a.m. but she wasn't sure how much it was"

I know Nick does charge extra for poolside rooms, certain character rooms, etc. but this sounds silly to me. To me an 11:00 checkout means you must be checked out no later than 11:00. If I am sharing a room with friends or on a business trip, I always ensure I get a receipt so I go checkout early to beat the check-out rush. The majority of hotels charge extra if you miss the 11:00 deadline. If Nick is doing this, then it is just another scam. I bet they also have a late check-out fee. LoL.

I wonder if it means cutting your trip short and leaving a day or more earlier instead of day of check out.

I agree. I think an early departure fee means, for example, that if you reserve a room for 3 nights and check out after two, you will be charged a fee for the night that you reserved and did not use. If check-out time is 11:00 a.m., it means you must be out of your room by that time. If you stay longer, you may be charged a fee for the extra time.
