Nick Hotel Changes?

I called Nick Hotel to make reservations for next April 2009 as their web site wouldn't allow them to be made for after March 15 online.

They told me that there are no discounts now, but will be in January, most likely.

They also said that the reason for the March 15 date is after then, they will no longer be part of 'Holiday Inn' (not sure who the parent hotel chain is), like Priority Club, but will be their 'own' entity.

Interesting. We booked for 3 nights in late April, but at $269 per night, plus tax and water park fee. A bit steep, but I like the fact they take reservations with no money down.

Will be neat to see if any big changes are afoot for them, with 'new' ownership.

Has anybody been able to get good rates for late April the past few years there?

Any hotel pointers would also be helpful as this will be our first stay there

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up on the pending changes. I have a bunch of Priority Club points and always wanted to try the Nick Hotel for at least a night at the end of a DVC stay. Just booked a night in February after we check out of the VWL.:thumbsup2

We used a bunch of our points there quickly as we knew they were changing. Marriott has licensed the Nick Hotel brand and will be opening a bunch of them around the country.

The Nick Hotel was a good thing to experience just once and my kids had a great time, but its really crazy there!

InterContinental Hotels Group is the parent company for the Holiday Inn brand.

See my post above. Yes, Marriott has licensed the Nick Hotel brand and will begin opening new hotels next year.

I had heard a rumor that they will be opening one in Charlotte NC since that is near Carowinds that makes sense to me. I hope they do that is very close to where we live and i can take the boys there for their fix so we can stay far far away when we go to Disney.
