Which of the properties in the Orlando area is the nicest of the VC resorts? For that matter if anyone has stayed in any of the FL ones I'd love to hear about them. We are doing a Royal Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral and will combine it with a resort stay. Proximity to WDW isn't really important as I doubt we'll even visit the parks. Any opinions and experiences welcomed!

We have stayed at Marriott's Grande Vista numerous times and think it is a beautiful resort. One of the nicest in Orlando IMO. It is set on a beautiful golf course designed by Nick Faldo.

The villas have all been recently been renovated from what I understand.

YOu can view this or any of their vacation club resorts on www.vacationclub.com.

We have toured Cypress Harbor and Horizons as well, but think the Grande Vista is the nicest. It is newer than Cypress Harbour and slightly more upscale than Horizons. But...you can't go wrong with any of them.

Another resort that is supposed to be beautiful is their Ocean Pointe Resort on Singer Island ...down towards Palm Beach. It is set right on the ocean. My parents stayed here two years ago and loved it...and they are picky.

Hope this helps you.

Have a wonderful cruise!!! Love to cruise when I'm not planning a Disney trip!!!

I agree that you can't go wrong with any of them. I have toured Horizons and stayed at Grande Vista and Cypress Harbour. I preferred Cypress Harbour. Possibly because of our unit location. We were on top floor overlooking the rental boats on the lake. I think I liked the layout and feel of the resort better also. Not to take anything away from Grande Vista, we liked it also.

WE stayed at Cypress Harbour and thought it was not
as elegant as Grande Vista. I really like GV pools better.

We prefer Horizons (especially if you have kids who like slides, mini water park, and zero entry pools) - it's a lot like a Disney resort. Cypress Harbour is really nice also - mature landscaping and it's kept up nicely. Those would be my first choices. We use these resorts to supplement our DVC stays.

Be careful staying at Marriott Grande Vista. If you don't get a refurbished unit or new building, it can be not so good. So it makes a big difference on where they put you.

We have stayed at GV and at Horizons this past May. GV is a more upscale type resort but is HUGE. We liked Horizons because it is not too big and it is easy to walk anywhere on the resort quickly. We had to take the car to get to the GV main building... place is very spread out.

I agree with the above poster that Horizons reminds me of a Disney resort.

Horizons is also VERY easy on and off I-4... we could be in a Disney parking lot in about 15-20 minutes.

GV reminds me of OKW. but littlestar is right - GV can be awful if you don't get a rehab room. they have been during this for years - shouldn't they have finished?

CH always and mean always get good reviews. I would go with it - Cypress Harbour.

Thanks so much for the info. If anyone else has any opinions, just let me know!
