Nice surprise...

We had a nice surprise yesterday. We went to our annual family tradition Christmas parade and Festival of Trees downtown and SURPRISE! WDW was a sponsor! (It is for the local children's hospital.) There were about a dozen? characters throughout the parade, including a castle float with Mickey and Minnie to start, then at the festival we got to take pics of both Mickey and Stitch! We even got to try out Disney's new photo system and look at pics online after we got home!
I'm hoping my own pics turn out good cause that is a potential Christmas photo card! Who would have thought? Mickey dressed in his Christmas sweater, my girls dressed in theirs, Christmas trees in the background... Couldn't have been more perfect! (And we didn't have to go to WDW to get it!)
They had numerous Disney themed Christmas trees to bid on, plus a raffle for a trip that included a Disney tree filled with trading pins and ornaments.
I think I was more excited than the kids. I'm truly pathetic!

Well, if you're pathetic, so am I. You are certainly not alone in this disease I would have loved to see it too and I hope you get some great Christmas pictures Why don't you post them if you do; I would like to see!

DD's chorus group is singing at the Festival of Trees this week. I wasn't going to go this year...but if the characters are going to be there through the week, I might have to! I'd love to check out the new photo system too.

DARN! Their pic my youngest was making an odd face. I took my film to one hour and darn if they didn't turn out either! Bugger! I can't seem to get a good holiday pic this year.

I believe that this is a promotional item this year. The Disney company is also hosting a huge tree lighting ceremony here in Dallas with several characters this weekend.

All in the name of tourism and the mighty dollar.

I just tried to get to the photos and they are now gone! Wow, they didn't keep them up very long. How odd. I did save them to my computer, though. I'll try to post them later.

Try having 3 kids. I've been through 2 photo sessions with my girls, one at Sears, and one here at home, all in there matching outfits,...... and not one good picture of all three of them to show for it!!! I feel your pain. We may not have cards this year! I'm running out of time. Maybe we'll get a better photo next year. So neat about the parade. That is one good thing about living in a large town. You don't get that in South Alabama.

Yes, but, Southern Alabama is just beautiful and so peaceful looking..... Wait maybe that's because we are always driving through at 6 AM as the sun is coming up.

I am so glad someone posted about going. We were not able to make it and I was disapointed we didnt make it downtown. Glad you had a wonderful time!!

Yes, Mickey and Minnie often frequent the "windy city" for tree lighting and such so that we all just imeediately get on the phone and book our WDW trips!!! The only problem is up here you generally have to freeze you buns off to do ANYTHING outside for about 6 months out of the year Sorry folks, former southerner here, I am just jealous of all you guys that have a shortish drive to Disney And about the family pictures, I have pretty much given up getting a good one with my 4. Hope to see yours soon Shan, I still have not gotten my vacation magic either
