We are looking for a nice hotel that is not 300 a night. I wanted to stay at one of the Disney hotels, but they are way to expensive for July. Any suggestions? I know that many people like HoJo but we usually like someplace a little bit nicer.

I appreciate any help! :flower3:

Depends on your definition of "nice" . About the only place I can think of would be CCI,but then again it's all subjective. :confused3

Depends on your definition of "Walking Distance". There are some big hotels that are pretty nice on the other side of Katella, like Hilton Anaheim, Mariott Anaheim, and Sheraton Park.

Imo, CCI is the nicest hotel that is clearly within walking distance. The nicer hotels (hilton, hyatt, embassy suites, etc) are not impossible to walk but not sure I would want to do the walk very often.

We like a Hampton or above like quality. What is CCI?

I am usually a hotel snob, too, but we just returned from a stay at the HoJo and really liked it! :) We were in the renovated kids suites and they were great! :) Good luck!

We have stayed a few times at the Holiday Inn on the corner of Walnut and Ball.

It is a 15 minute walk to the entrance of Disneyland. I actually enjoy the walk because I like walking through Downtown Disney.

It is a 3 star hotel. No free breakfast, no fridge/microwave. But, the beds and pillows are soooooo nice! :cloud9:

I have always booked the hotel through Hotwire, but their normal rates aren't bad either.

CCI is Candy Cane Inn. I believe it is a privately owned hotel and not a chain. It is basically just a regular motel in it's architecture. It has 2 floors with rooms that open outside with the parking lot in front of the doors. But they have made it look really cute for that kind of motel. They did a really good job landscaping with lots of plants and trees and there is a fountain in front. The driveway/parking lot is also made with pavers instead of asphalt which helps make it look nicer and more upscale. The windows also have shutters instead of curtains. I haven't stayed at too many of the hotels around there but just from walking by them, CCI looks a lot nicer. It's not the hyatt or hilton. I would say it feels more like a nice little inn. But it's nice and they have free parking, free breakfast (nothing hot but it's nicer than most free breakfasts of that type), and they have a free shuttle in case you don't feel like walking the short distance.

Thanks for the suggestions! I may look into the kid suites. Thanks! Planning a trip to Disneyland is very exciting.

Don't forget to check if the Hotels/Inns have Bell/Porter services if you are not used to carrying your own bags. Not all of them east of Harbor do! ;)
