Nice Hotel/Resort near the Swan?

Hi everyone. I am heading to the Swan for a Convention 3/16-3/18 and am not too thrilled about paying $600 or so for the two nights.

Are there any other nice hotels or resorts in the vicinity of the swan that might be (significantly) less expensive but also very nice?

Look at the Downtown Disney resorts. If you have a car they are only minutes away. If no car you could walk to DTD and take the bus to the Swan. I just stayed at the Hilton and it was nice and the closest walk to DTD, literally crossed the road.

May want to check w.mousesavers.com to see if she has any links to discounts to her favorite DTD resorts, there are several of them. Looks like Royal Plaza (just renovated last year) and Best Western Lake Buena Vista both in range of $150 a night.

If you want to be on Disney, POP (value) is very close and a short drive if you have a car. Expedia lists POP at $119, but may be able to do better.
