Nic Hotel

Anyone stayed at the Nic Hotel? Do we need to plan to do other things like SW or US? Do you have any tips for rooms, meals, pool area etc.?

I would do some searches on the hotel review board- found at the top of this forum. There are quite a few great reviews, one w/ photo's, on the Nick Hotel.

I really enjoyed staying at the nick hotel, we got a 2 bedroom suite and I welcomed the privacy, they have one buffet restaurant that the kids eat free the adults pay around 15.00, for me and my husband came out to 34.00 and the two kids free the food was ok , but the dessert selection was limited to cakes and cookies (they have fresh fruit also) the other restaurant the kids are free if they order from a set menu for kids otherwise they pay I believe 6.95 if they eat from the buffet, I like that one better more food selection, the hotel could be so noisy but I requested pool view at the top floor(6th) so it was not a problem. You can hear your neighbors at one point at 1:00 am I had to yell at them to keep the noise down!! and called the front desk( they stop the noise with no incident) the only thing that I did not like about the pool was how the parents could be irresponsable with their kids leaving them alone just because is a gated pool, we witness a 3yrs who jumped in the pool and almost drowned thank God that they have lifeguards, they rescued the boy and the parents could not be found they had to go to the front desk when the mother came she was not even worried when they told her that her boy almost drown and was mad at the hotel for making a big "deal". The same with the arcade, kids running wild with no parental supervision, But it is a very nice hotel ask for the calendar with the activities of the week, they have face painting, balloons animals, tattoos, tshirt painting, lots of activities to keep the children occupied for a long time.
We are looking foward to next year, we are going for a week!!!!

Definitely ask for a room on the lagoon side, the pool is better. We always ask for a room in bldg 13 or 14 on floor 4 or above facing the Marriott. This way we can watch the fireworks (2 at Disney and 1 at Seaworld) from the walkway outside our room every night. The kids loved it.

I would reccommend this hotel as a treat for ONE night before or after Disney. Preferably before, if you drive, because you don't have to leave the hotel the whole time you are there and you can rest up for your real trip. Be prepared for more kids than you thought. No, they do not go to Disney, Seaworld, Universal all day. I did like that they had free shuttles though if you did want this option. You don't have to get in your car and remember, parking at DW is now 10.00.

We stayed at Nick for 3 days before Disney. We also went to IOA/US on those days. I would stay at nick again in a heartbeat but 3 things i would do differently is -1. not on a weekend way to crowded. 2. Stay at the hotel use the ammenities and skip the parks. 3. Do not attempt to eat in there buffets.

We stayed here, but it is definatly only a few night thing, can get very busy and ask for a room away from the pool as it is open till late and also the walkway to the bar reasturant etc and is very noisy even at 12 midnight, but the rooms are nice good size and the kids love the theming, id give the breakfast a go just for the characters if you have little ones but dont go for the food. Parking can be a problem if its very busy though. overall a nice place were going back for 2 nights next year, my daughter loves the childrens pampering salon she had her hair braided in tiny plaits


Bus to disney is a bit of a joke and take forever and is way hot! so id say you need a car!
