We will be staying at PORFQ next weekend.

Where is a good place to watch the Patriots game Sunday afternoon?

I'm guessing maybe somewhere in DTD?

The best place is probably ESPN zone at the Boardwalk....great atmosphere for games. Having said that, it does get pretty crowded and you often need to go pretty early to get a seat. As far as DTD, when we were there for the Super Bowl last year, we were surprised at the lack of places to watch the game. We ended up at Paradiso 37 at the bar and did have a good time, but there just weren't that many options.

We were trying to catch the Patriots game in October and couldn't get into the ESPN. Your best bet would be to get there right at opening. If you have a car; off site would be best.

so wait, you guys like fb that much that you will "skip" a day at disney to watch it:lmao:
i like sports and all but seriously who wants to get at espn right at opening or go off site to see a game when you could spend time doing something fun with your family

Yup....that's a Patriot's fan for you! Doesn't matter where you are. If the game is on, you do everything in your power to see it. ;) BTW, watching the Patriots is fun for my family.

Since none of the Florida NFL teams are playing at 4:15, it possible the local CBS station will be showing it. If that's the case if the pool bar at POFQ should have it on one of their sets.
otherwise I agreed with some PP about going offsite. If you go to the ESPN Club get there a hour or so before the game so you can be in line to get in.

Is there a pool bar at your resort? Last time we were at WL, the playoff game was on at the pool bar. My husband kept getting out of the pool to check the score.

I hope the Pats get it handed to them and your whole family is forced to watch. :D

Hey we are talking about the Patriots! My son tells people that when he was young he only got food before the game, at 1/2 time or after the game. He is exaggerating.....a little:goodvibes

I think you should stay at FQ or go over to Riverside. Too crowded at ESPN. Went to see the Pats /chiefs game a few weeks ago and waited almost 45 minutes to get a table.
GO PATRIOTS!

The bartenders at POFQ pool bar are great( Shelley's the best). If you want some food you are only steps away from the food court. IMO Disney made a mistake not putting a ESPN in DTD

I was told by a very reliable source that I have at my fav resort that Disney is adding a 100 channel package in late January (first in the lounges and bars, then the rooms), with a great deal of sports channels. Apparently they have noted the need for more channels, including the sports channels that carry more games.

According to the Orlando CBS station's Web site, the Patriots-Bronco's game will be aired locally. As a result, you should be able to see the game in your room or at any resort lounge that has a TV.

ESPN is pretty much the only place to catch a game that is not being aired locally or on MNF on ESPN. I have heard that at least one of the lounges at Swan/Dolphin may be a viable alternative to ESPN Zone, but can't confirm that.

I don't see anything wrong with missing some disney time to catch a game, but the pat's...really? Now if the Steelers were on that's a different story...:rotfl2: We have missed time to watch the Penguins playoff game while at Disney in the ESPN club but with that said it's great for the tv's and attmosphere but the food was horrible and the wait staff was even worse. We won't be going back there any time soon, not even to watch the Pen's or Steeler's.

We watched the Bills/Patriots game in September at ESPN Club when the Bills beat the Patriots and sacked Tom Brady 4 times.

We arrived at ESPN Club around 12pm for a 1pm game and got a table in the bar area, but there weren't many seats left. I'd say get there no later than noon to get a seat. The food was very good and also on the dining plan. You can sit in the dining room too, but we felt funny about staying at a dining room table the whole game - but people did it. ESPN Club was actually a really fun place to watch the game with football fans all around and even a live "pre-game" show done on the bar side of the restaurant. No one had any problems with us staying the whole game, and all the TVs are labeled with which games will be on which TV.

We spent the morning at Epcot and then walked to the Boardwalk through the international gateway to go to ESPN Club. Then headed back to Epcot for the night. Worked out perfectly!
