Nextel - cell phones in general

Nextel was the last cell phone company I will ever use. they lied to me and say they were changing my other cell phone number to them.

they never even tried.

So I canceled.

now they are telling the FCC that I NEVER asked for my other cell phone number to be changed.

oh yea - a single female really needs two cell phone number.

I am so mad at them!!!

Okay folks I need your help I want a cell phone or something else that I can use in emergency (tire blow out - or car broke down).

any suggestions?

oh I used cingular for years was very happy with them. then my cell phone broke and they would only let me go with a new plan.

sorry but I have nextel and I love it.. I even got to keep an old number..

how about a prepaid phone if you are only going to use it in the car for emergencies??? like a roxy phone or a pay as you go or tracker something..

If you're only going to use it for emergencies, I'd go with a pre-pay service like virgin mobile, or tracphone. They're much cheaper on a month-to-month comparison if you don't do a lot of calls.

I have a Virgin cellphone. I love it. You buy the phone, set it up online and figure out how you want to pay the $20.00 every 90 days.

If you use the phone a lot, 25 cents a minute for the first 10 minutes of use per day, can eat up that $20.00 pretty fast, but as an emergency phone, $6.67 per month is a pretty good deal. Also, if I don't use up all the 20.00, I don't lose it as long as I pay another 20.00 on time. Last year we saved it and called our folks on Christmas-no long distance, so it was worth it!
