I was checking out the Orange County School calendar http://www.orangeusd.k12.ca.us/downloads/calendar.pdfto see if the schools are out during next week march 23 to march 31.
The calendar says that spring break is March 31 - April 4 however it looks like s-track schools are out. Does anyone know what s-track schools are?
Just trying to gage how busy it will be.
Thanksprincess:

If Disneyland hours are 8am-Midnight. Expect the crowdes to be big. Some schools are out now some not untill the 15th of April. Also spring break ranges for each state and I know a lot of tourists are in town. I was there this past Sat and it was not that bad. Going tommorrow.. Will let you know how crazy it is.

My Ds is not out unitll the 4th of April.

Thanks, I am hoping that we miss some of the hugest crowds but I know that it will be busy. I am bringing my parents there for the first time and hoping that the crowds will not ruin their first experience.

my kids are out for four weeks. . . my nieces are out next week. . . and we live in two total different area of socal. . . just to show you how different the breaks are everywhere.

I didnt realize that it was so much different for each district. I live in Vancouver, Canada and here there are only two different times. This week for public schools and next week for private schools.

So can anyone guess if it will be insanely busy next week? We will be there monday to sunday.
Thanks

Yes. Expect huge crowds and long lines (60 min + for many major attractions such as Space, Splash, Indy, Nemo). Also to get good seats at popular entertainment shows (fantasmic, fireworks, parades) I would recommend showing up at least an hour in advance of show time. The best way to make the most out of a crowded time is to arrive early early early. An hour before official park opening is preferable if possible. You can do more in the first 3 hours the park is open (8AM-11AM) than you can the rest of the day. Also remember FP is your best friend!

Thanks for the info, its a little disappointing but unfortunately this is the only time that we can go. We will try to go in early and see where we end up at...

So when people say mid-April, does that mean that April 9-12 will still be really busy?
:confused3

According to Disneyland's website they will be open until 11 on April 9, 10th and 12 on the 11th and 12th. Weekends are always busy but when Disneyland stays open until 11 on a weeknight then are expecting very large crowds.

I plan my vacations during the week during slow times when the park closes at 8.

That is what I thought ;)

Thanks for the quick responses, now I can prepare to battle the crowds.

Just so I can fully prepare myself, is it Christmas type of busy?

Jax, I don't think it will be as busy as the week of Christmas, or Fourth of July of that matter, but I think that you are talking about small degrees, really. It is one of the most popular times of the year for general visitors to attend. That's how you have to look at it, these are the times of the year when you will benefit from careful planning. Using an itinerary to help you make the most of the early and late hours, making sure you are there at least forty minutes to an hour before opening, and collect FP's early so that you can use them later. Plan on plenty of time to stake out a spot for fireworks or parades. With the extended hours, you can afford to spend mid-day taking in shows, parades, shopping or enjoy a long relaxed lunch. If the crowds end up being less than you fear, it will be like a gift, but if they are as bad as they might be, you will be better off for the planning. :thumbsup2

I think mAlien13's post sums it up well.

Expect the worst and mitigate it by good planning. Between spring break and the 2fer's, it should be a wild ride. Hold onto them hats and glasses!

And if it ends up less crowded, woo hoo, take that extra Matterhorn/SM/HM/POTC/etc ride for me :thumbsup2

Best wishes for a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the responses.

I Will definitely take advantage of the planning advice.

I am traveling with a friend and her 2 daughters and it is the first time that the 3 of them have been to DL. I have been to DL and WDW several times in the past couple of years so I am not worried about me, I just want to make sure that this trip as magical and memorable as possible for the other 3 :goodvibes

 13 more work days! :woohoo:
