So what is the fireworks show like now? Where is the best viewing area. In the back of my mind I thought I read/heard that a new fireworks display would be happening soon and you could view it from anywhere in the park?!?! We'd like to stay for the fireworks Monday night but not sure where to watch? Is in front of the castle still the place to be?

The show being presented right now is Fantasy in the Sky. It's basically a placeholder show until the new show, Disneyland Forever, debuts on May 22. Fantasy in the Sky is only about 5 minutes long and can be viewed from the usual locations (e.g., Main Street, IaSW Mall, NOS, etc.).

Gotcha...thanks so much :)
Will have to wait for our July trip to see the new one!

What is Tink's flight for the show? Does she still do the cool pulley opening or is it like WDW's flight where she just goes in a straight line?

Wow! That's a bummer. But that makes the decision if taking time out for the fireworks is worth it or not! I'll be there next week. I've never taken time out to see WoC or Fantasmic! because I always loved the fireworks. Looks like I'll get to make time for something new. Thanks for letting me know :cutie:

Yes very short show right now, have watch on live cam on the sticky, I am ready for May 22 when the pull out all the bells and whistles

One trade-off is that with this show, there are no effects/projections on the castle, so you can pretty much most of the show from the F! viewing area. So if you happen to see the first F! showing and stay in the viewing area, you can also watch fireworks. On a similar note, because the show is pretty limited, there isn't as much of a crowd, so it's fairly easy to find a spot at the last minute.
