"Next to Normal" musical - is it a good show? OK for teens?

This show is coming to Des Moines, and I can get pre-sale tickets today.

I don't know much about it, but I do know that it got rave reviews and several Tonys.

Can anyone tell me if it is a good show?

It is a really good show. One of my favorites. The show isn't too bad. it just has some cursing (the f word is said a couple of times).
The show is a edgier then other broadway shows. It's about a mom who imagines her son is still alive and undergoes shock therapy.
The songs are really good and catchy. my favorites are "I'm alive" and "I am the One".
It's a really good. It's really emotional, I think I cried the last 20 minutes of the show, and when I went there were plenty of teens there.

I think the 15 yo DS and 19 yo DD can handle that word!
They loved "Rent" and "Wicked" and "Avenue Q", so I hope they like this one too!

I'm really excited that Alice Ripley is in this touring company. She played the role of the mom on Broadway, and won a slew of awards, including the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical!
