News Round Up 2021

Ever since the skyliner opened, people have requested their own cabins - this was pre-covid and nothing to do with germs. Was discussed on here at length when the skyliner opened. People were concerned about stoppage/breakdown and being stuck in a small space with strangers for a long period of time. I think it is a reasonable request for anyone, no matter the reason - covid, uncomfortable in an enclosed space with strangers, etc. I personally don’t mind waiting a little longer to accommodate people’s needs.

And, I’m sure not everyone will demand to ride alone. I bet lots of people at WDW are comfortable riding with others. I don’t think it’s out of line for someone to request their own, for whatever reason.

Pre-Covid I was told I can wait for the ADA line. That's fine, I don't mind the extra wait. But it is a bit uncomfortable feeling like I need to explain my needs every time. It shouldn't be that hard to just take the request in the regular line and keep things running. The ADA line is because they specifically need to be able to stop it. Even with my own cabin it's something I generally just skip all together and only ride because others want to. Going every week for the last year, I've maybe ridden them 4 times. The worst thing to me is that voice. If they would just make it possible to disable the audio it would help me a lot.

You're guess is as good as mine. One of the best posters on here (as was another poster that was banned as well). But speaking from personal experience, talking about it seems to be looked down upon by the admins.

That’s what so sad, right? There’s nothing wrong with being positive and hopeful, but when people offer realistic commentary about certain things returning, nobody wants to hear it. That commentary isn’t valid. And being realistic isn’t the same as being negative.

It seems that a small group of people want to now control the news round up thread and the tone of what is posted here. Just not sure the rumors and news board’s main pinned thread should be a one sided echo chamber, that’s all. There’s apparently a certain tone that must be kept here now. If you’re not jumping up and down and posting dancing gifs, I guess you’re not welcome in the main news thread anymore

Look, man, it's not about always being positive, it's the tendency to pick at the posts. Nobody has said you can't post soemthing negative, but it's all the gnashing of teeth of "why is that posted in the news thread?" or "that's just plain wrong and heres why...," which is the problem. The decidedly pointed tone that some have taken toward posters who are just trying to post interesting things is where the conflict is arising, and there is just no need for it. I wonder who it is exactly that is trying to "control the tone."

Now, let's just knock it off with this stuff, okay?

I hate it when that happens. I am notorious for going back and editing my posts becuase I often type them quickly. Once quoted, my errors live on forever. If it makes you feel better I fixed your quote in my post.

I think it's the Cava de Tequila.... It's amazing what people will go through for that!

I think the Pavilion is great as a whole. Dark, cool, fun atmosphere, good music, interesting shopping...it's my favorite!

I saw in a recent vlog, someone mentioned there is sometimes a special line to get into La Cava that is separate from the main line for the pavilion. No idea how often that is the case, but seemed to be in his video.

TWO Iconic Disney Characters in an Unexpected Spot Today (The Grand Floridian Lobby!)

Chip and Dale were out at Epcot on a vlogger vid I saw the other day and it made me wonder if there was some training going on in preparation for more character interactions.

La Cava probably is what people are after!

Yes. When we first went in August 2020 they weren't doing capacity in the pyramid yet, but the line for La Cava was SO long that they were shutting it down as needed. Still a big draw.

I think the Pavilion is great as a whole. Dark, cool, fun atmosphere, good music, interesting shopping...it's my favorite!

The first time I went to WDW, I was a crazy person planning for 9 people. We had dinner reservations every day, park hopping, it was nuts for a first timer. The next time I went was so much more relaxed and we saw people going inside the Mexico Pavilion and I was in awww. I didn't even know you could go inside! It turned out to be one of my favorite places.
