News Round Up 2020

August 4th is going to be an interesting day.

I would imagine Sea World guests right now are almost exclusively locals with APs, much more so than Disney or even Universal. I went once, and even though it was “free” I won’t be back because their mask enforcement is non-existant. Not that they are missing out on my money. I think I’ve had exactly one proper meal at Sea World in my life. I have done a few animal encounters though.

SeaWorld News

Looks like no Iron Gwazi, Icebreaker, Pantheon, or Emperor this year.

Six Flags has stated the same, so no Jersey Devil either.

Makes sense. Why waste the grand opening for a time that isn’t going to draw in the crowds it was built to attract? I wonder what this means for the Surf coaster that was supposed to come in 2021 to Sea World. I hope just delayed and not killed all together. But assuming Sea World makes it out of this, I would think they’d need to scrap it for now.

But while the delays are disappointing, assuming Disney and Universals coasters aren’t delayed, Central Florida will be in for a huge 2021 in terms of new coasters.

While nothing has been mentioned about the Surf Coaster, it’s already been partially paid for and parts have been on site for about 6 months. I don’t think they’ll cancel it. Certainly opening 2 major coasters in their park next year could help give a big boost to recovery.

Just speculation for now it seems
At this point it would be a surprise if they weren’t cancelled. those are pretty big mass gatherings even though it is months away.

But a year without parties has gotta hurt Disney. It is a shame because having just went on a mini vacation it is pretty obvious a lot of people don’t care about being where there are a lot of other tourists.

I I’ve been wondering if Disney will be just holding off Ratatouille opening for similar reasons. They don’t want to draw crowds To one particular park or ride in that park and/or waste the big opening of a new ride on such low crowds.

I still think having blimps at sporting events that are played inside is a waste ... but good for Disney I guess

actually that Blimp has probably had nothing to do so maybe just an excuse to run it
And its stored not far away in Pompano Beach FL. I lived a couple miles away and used to see them come in and out all the time. And I was there about 15 years ago when the one crashed on landing. The sound was unreal. Think of the loudest thunder you've ever heard and triple it. And I was about 5 miles away. That was when they ended the paid for customer rides as well.
