I think it's quite bizarre to be putting up signage for Harmonious around the lagoon, but then show Epcot Forever. That might be a bit confusing...people will be like, gosh, Harmonious is awful!

Another reason to suspect the next fireworks show at EPCOT will be Harmonious.

The 15 year refurbishment is what I meant. I’m also hopeful we see an extension offering for BRV like we saw (and they talked about on the DVC show this week) for Boardwalk and OKW in 2009.

I already own at Saratoga, so I’ve got the years left on my contract, I just want the pts at VGC or BRV and if the full room refurb is coming up next year for BRV, it makes it more enticing to me. I’m still leaning VGC since I have to throw away pts on the hotel side because it’s impossible to get in at the 7 month window

Gotta comment... BRV Blue card owners, and we LOVE the place . 2042 expiration is fine with us - we are 68 . Probably NOT flying to WDW, when we are 90 .

Extension offering? Not likely to take it, unless my eldest son is interested .

It saddens me to hear things like that. IMO the worst part of this pandemic is how it just pushed people quicker to being non social society. Less and less people go out anymore. From streaming movies to going out for drinks or to eat, more and more people stay in instead.

Because right now we're living in the middle of a pandemic. This is not a normal time. Our government where I live and many other areas too are asking people to stay home except for going out for essentials. People should not be going out to socialize right now, staying in is exactly what we should be doing.

Hopefully it is more as anadditonal otion vs the only one. Chatting in this thread and others it seems like folks who prefer going to theaters are still planning to go and see things in the theaters and then those looking forward to being able to watch things at home weren't planning to see many/any in the theaters anyway.

Maybe me just being annoyingly optimistic again but I feel like that is more of what things during the pandemic have raised - more options.

I mean, with zoom gatherings and stuff like that I have been about 3 times MORE social during this than before (I dislike public gatherings/making small talk/etc - exhausts me) - and i have connected with people way more often now than I did in the past

Another example is my company is having various virtual events over 3 nights next week instead of one big holiday party which I generally didn't go to as I didn't enjoy them (if I went it was just to make a quick appearance) but I am participating in a few things this year

So more options is good!

Disney+ was always going to raise their price, it was merely a matter of time. It was released 13 months ago and consequently many of us who had 1 free year that time period is now up so regardless of whether movies were released on Disney+ vs theaters first there was at least a reason for them to raise the price. The concern for me anyways was always just how quickly (or slowly) would the price creep up there.

We don't go to theatres much anymore.

Going in the city, it's not exactly a fun experience. It's crowded, loud, annoying, lots of youth on phones/shouting/walking around.

And we aren't driving to the suburbs. Maybe once in a while we will go downtown, but even then we try to make the earlier showings, which is hard with work.

Movie theater experience has gone way down hill. Overpriced, people constantly looking at their phones, people talking, etc. I would rather watch at home.

I’m also glad I did the D23 deal for Disney +. I knew the price would go up. They always do.

I have always got our movie tickets from Costco. For $30 you get 2 tickets, 2 pop and a popcorn. I do understand it's a financial choice to watch movies at home.

For me it's that after not going out as much as I used to due to the pandemic I am itching for this to end. I can't stand staying home this much.

Concessions have never nor will they ever make financial sense. Way back like 20 years ago we'd pay $6 for a hot dog at the local theater and it didn't matter that we had hot dogs at home oh no I needed the one from the theater at an astronomical mark up. I don't remember what Sweetarts cost but I always had to get those too. But concessions are where many of the movie theaters make their profits from. On the other hand in the last 10-12 years movie theaters have stepped up what concessions they offer.

With 3 young kids organizing an evening out is only slightly less complicated than managing a land war in Asia

What does age have to do with it?

We are couple in 40's with no kids and we go out all the time (or did). It's hard to believe, but you don't turn into a hermit after 40....

We just don't like theatres because they are obnoxious over here. We stopped going years ago when a fight broke out.
