News Round Up 2020

Shame, but not unexpected. If we weren't in a huge tourism/parks downturn, I'd be excited for them to close down the Disney Junior Dance party and Launch Bay and make the "Animation Courtyard" .. into a new attraction/land. The Launch Bay is such a waste of space, that served a purpose while DHS was waiting SWGE and Toy Story Land to be built .. just wish SWGE had space for behind-the-scenes M&G (so not to have to worry about 'immersion-breaking')

No Christmas lights on the castle!? I'm confused as to whether they are getting rid of the lights, or the just lighting show? Also - how long will it actually be dark out before the park is closed?
I think thats another piece to this. The park hours won't be very long. Its easy to turn off and on projectors for the short darkness periods vs. installing the lights for a small period of time.

So (unless that was reported earlier and I missed it) officially no MVMCP. As long as the parks are decorated up for Christmas, it will feel festive .. and the character cavalcades are basically like a mini-parade in each park it feels. I haven't witnessed them in person, but man .. I still say those are the best things that come out of this mess. I hope they stay into the next year for a while.

Will Disney be extending their hours over the holidays? MK hours are still 6:00 PM right? Sunset is at what? 5:30ish during November/December? I guess you get a glimpse of the castle projects while you leave ... not as cool as the ice castle, but still fun and festive.

About what I was expecting. No party, no CP, and no gingerbread in the resorts. But still some nice decorations, character cavalcades, and food options! I’m psyched! The projections will be nice, definitely will miss the castle lights, but gives us something to look forward to for next year!

No change in hours at this time.

I'm also wondering if they're not doing the lights since it was a huge gathering place for people waiting for them to be turned on each evening?

Gets dark around 5-5:30 in the winter - so if they keep current closing time 6 PM) it will be not long, but they will likely extend hours for the actual holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) as the # of locals will undoubtably rise. And they could well increase capacity by then as well.

No mention of Sunset Seasons Greetings at DHS - I would think if they’re using projections at MK, they’d keep using the ones for Tower of Terror. DHS recently has been one of the more festive parks at the holidays and hope that continues.
