I love Animal Kingdom (my favorite park is a toss-up between AK and MK) and am really looking forward to these new nighttime experiences!

We are looking forward to it too but how am I going to fit all that into a few night time hours? LOL I can't wait to start seeing some reviews and TPs of the nighttime attractions to see what is possible to do. EE at night would be cool so might just go ahead and pencil that one in for night. Safari will greatly depend on reviews if it's really worth the effort to trek all the way across the park after ROL.

I don't know if it has been mentioned here (probably yes?) because I'm ~10 pages behind, but BOG's entree increased and price for beverages are now listed a la carte.

Just spoke with a CM who said "may be moving toward prix fixe"

Also, when I was booking a reservation, the policies lingo at the end said, word-for-word, "1 quick service meal is required." When I asked for clarification if 1 quick service meal was required per person dining, or if people could share, she looked into it and said she thinks that is referring to the Disney Dining Plan and typically sharing has been allowed.

I can't help but wonder if she is wrong and 1 quick service meal is now required per person.

She also was unable to confirm if the BOG entree included a beverage.

That one almost went over my head. What is the historical precedent prior to these changes? Have they ever held onto shows / fireworks for this long? Assuming no...

Usually that lingo is meant for the dining plan.

They have but I don't think anything has lasted as long as these two shows.

I'm not defending the tenure of either show, just speculating on the timeline for the impending updates.
Wishes driving would be a neat trick, and free beer with Illuminations would be a nice perk .

I don't think there's a problem holding onto shows for a long time, if they plus them every so often. Add the end of the day, there's not much that separates one fireworks display from another. Wishes by any other name would still essentially be Wishes. The problem there, as with IllumiNations is that Disney has gotten a little stingy with the fireworks. My guess: if they returned Wishes to its opening night state, and upgraded the castle projections, most people would consider it a new show.

IllumiNations did get new lasers which is nice, but has less fireworks, so boo to that too.

Film and TV News:

Disney XD is launching a Big Hero 6 TV series in 2017, produced by Kim Possible creators and producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley (how awesome is that). Let's remember that Tangled is already being developed into a TV series for the Disney Channel. Other popular films by Walt Disney Animation Studios are rumored to be getting a full-fleshed sequel, as is the case of Wreck-it-Ralph and Frozen.

The prince with stake in Parks was a potential buyer. Thankfully that never happened.

I had heard that they wanted to divest themselves of the paris parks but never the US ones. Thats where the prince came in. They were going to make a deal like they have with japan. Instead they bought paris outright. I had also heard that disney made an offer to the hong kong government for the hong kong government to buy HKDL because the government was dragging their feet when disney wanted to add to the park. I have never heard that Iger even considered selling DL or WDW. Seems a bit short sided to me.
