Newport Beach

plan to take a drive to Newport Beach during our disney stay. how is the drive (going weekday morning) and how is the parking there

Traffic is a constant; parking is tough.

Totally depends on when you're going. Traffic will be horrible during rush hour but slightly better if you leave mid-morning. If you're going soon before school gets out you should be able to park in the public lots no problem. Once summer break starts it's tough but if you get there early there is usually parking available.
