Dear all.
We are planning our next trip and are looking at the Newport Bay as our base.(The choice is either a standard room with lake view or Admirals club with lake view). Can anyone tell me if upgrading to the Admirals club is really worth doing. I have looked on the official site but there is not much difference between the 2 apart from the check in. We are hoping to go for the week leading up to Christmas so any insider info about the hotel at christmas time would be good.
Thank you
Judi

Hello Judi, We are going to the NPB from the 26th to the 31st of Dec. Originally I had booked a standard room but after reading other people's comments, the Admiral floor is a must...specially when going in high season. The difference they gave me between the standard and the Admiral floor was €57 for the 5 nights...Besides, it has a seperate check in, as well as the towels for the pool are free. I read that they cost €1.50 per person and you can't use the ones in the bathroom. This information does not show up in the catalogue. Ohter people told me about the convenience of having breakfast when ever you want insted of having to go at a certain time. Maybe some one who has been there in Dec, can tell us about their past experience. The costs are high already, but if these €57 will make everything a bit better....why not. Just call the reservations dept of DLP and ask them to tell you the difference in money of a standard and an Admiral Floor ( I did not choose the lake view..). Hope this helps,

We were just in an ordinary room last summer and it didn't cost us for towels for the pool. Just 2 euros for the locker which you got back.Julie.

I did not know that...over the phone the reservation agent told me about the €1.50 per towel. Maybe they don't always charge it ?

We stayed in an Admirals suite (for 4) last Christmas and IMO it was worth the extra. You have a completely seperate breakfast room - all themed like a ship. No pushing, a really nice relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were bigger, we had Disney Coin chocolates left every day, executive check-in (the queues for standard check in were loooooooooooooong.)

You will be on the top floors with views generally out over the lake which was stunning especially for sunset and sunrise - and when it snowed !!!

IMO well worth the small additional cost.

We upgraded to the Admirals' Floor when we stayed in the NPBH. We thought it was worth it.

Be aware that some of the perks mentioned do not always seem to be availible, i.e private breakfast room, coins on your pillows and I do not think the rooms are any bigger. Some of them may only be availible in the suites and not the standard Admiral Floor rooms.

Things that I do know we had were an express reception desk (very useful as the queue for the main desk was very long), VIP parking if you are driving (close to the hotel), a complementary tea/coffee box, WiFi access in the room and your room is in the main building (this is a huge plus point as this hotel is vast!!!)
