Newport Bay refurbishment?

Does anyone know if the Newport Bay refurbishment will be finished by June/July 2014?

I guess it's such a large hotel that they could be refurbishing one wing while you are staying in another & you probably wouldn't be aware of the work going on. Wouldn't want to stay there when the exterior is covered in scaffolding. We've stayed at the 5 other onsite hotels, so would like to stay at the NPB next, (then start all over again!)

It will probably take them about two years to fully refurbish the Newport Bay Club. Remember it is one of Europes largest hotels. According to Steve on Dedicated to DLP it's going to be a big job.

Here is some of what is planned for the hotel.

"The bedrooms will get Mickey Mouse touches and the colours will be warmer
"The restaurants (Yacht Club and Cape Cod) will improve
"The Lobby will be entirely redone
"The facade will be completely stripped and replaced
"The swimming pool will be touched up

The East Wing (524 rooms) will be closed for refurbishment from 1 November 2013 to March 2014. These rooms will be on sale again progressively as of March 2014. During this period the following facilities will be closed: Outdoor pool; indoor pool and whirlpool; sauna and steambath; massage; fitness room and games room.

The 2nd and 3rd phases of refurbishment will follow for the Central building and the West Wing of the hotel. The dates of these phases have not been released yet.
