big hotel - lots of people but only a 4 capacity lift to get from the rear entrance (the only way out to the parks) and reception -

why?

oh and given the 21 steps why are able bodied people still insistent that this lift was the only way up / down

we found a queue of 10 people waiting one morning - we took the stairs and made 2 trips (2 pushchairs) - it was quicker

that was my complaint when we stayed there in 2002 ,DS3 using a buggy and steps to get out and people wouldnt give up their place in the queue for the lift in the end DH carried the folded up buggy down steps and i (very sorry) held lots of people up helping DS down the stairs. ( couldnt carry anything due to a personal problem!!)

Well I didn't even realise that there was a lift down from reception to ground floor, although thinking about it logically there would have to be one for disabled access and pushchairs, although why anyone would choose to wait for a lift rather than walk down that beautiul staircase is beyond me - Guess there must be some mighty lazy people out there.

Those lifts are a pain - literally! We had to wait ages for them because I can't walk up too many stairs. My DH and DD always made it up or down the stairs way before me in the lift!!

The Sequoia Lodge is even worse, the lift from reception down to the ground floor can just about squeeze a buggy and one person in, nightmare!

Also know what you mean able bodied people insisting on taking the life. On our last trip we were in one of the lodges and not the main building (in the Sequoia Lodge again). The number of times I had to wait in the queue for a lift with able bodied people to go DOWN ONE FLOOR was amazing.

I ended up carrying the buggy down most days, just couldn't believe it.
