Today the Orlando Sentinel's Food Critic, Scott Joseph, did a review of Raglan Road and he was not impressed.

I read the review, it wasn't all bad. :confused3 In fact, I thought he said a few more nicer things, than negative.

Most people haven't been to an authentic Irish Pub to compare it too...so my guess is most people will like it. I have ADR's at the end of the month and even after reading the review I can't wait...

I think it's pretty good...but I wasn't really expecting authentic Irish.

I was really dissapointed in raglan road....from the service to the food....i had the worst service and food there of my entire trip...Im not even gonna get into this story

I have nothing good to say about Raglan Road either, unfortunately :( Poor service, "okay" food (not worth the prices), and an ambiance that does not strike me as the charming "pub" atmosphere in Ireland but rather an obnoxious American bar with loud "Irish-sounding" music in the background with the occasional girl doing an Irish dance on a table.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. I've been completely baffled at the response to the restaurant here, because we've been three times now and still aren't impressed in the least. It's just ok - the Irish pub we go to in Winter Park is miles above Raglan Road in quality and the prices are about half. Actually, in fact, Rose and Crown is much better than Raglan Road.

I pretty much have the same feelings about the place as the review, oh, and SeaSpray, that's a fairly negative review for Scott Joseph. The comments about the bangers and mash especially ring true since we just tried them - definitely had a mushy texture.

Edit: oh, and the poor beer selection makes me sad :sad2:

We went a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Of course a couple of draft Smithwicks will help me love a lot of things. :goodvibes But seriously, our service was great, the beer was great and our food was wonderful. Was it pricey? Yeah a little, but we loved the atmosphere.

And I have been to authentic Irish pubs...in IRELAND. ;)
